Don't worry how things look in Internet Explorer. The people using IE deserve a bad browsing experience. LOL
Just kidding.
Just kidding about the just kidding?
Joseph LeeMemberI fixed it for him Susan. Thanks for responding. You are always so kind!
Joseph LeeMemberI am on google right now. [email protected]. Feel free to contact me on google, I will help you.
Joseph LeeMemberI know the problem =)
Go to the page you added the photo to. You don't put the photo on the page then tag the page "featured." On the right side of the screen (when in admin - edit page) there is a "featured image" link at the very bottom. You click featured image, upload the file, then it will appear for you. Let me know if that fixes it.
Joseph LeeMemberI would like to add some advice on photos, though I doubt the size of your photo is the problem you are having. I won't know till you send me a link, but you should know these basic things about your photos...
You can use a 12,000 x 12,000 photo. The site will resize it with php. This is set in the functions.php. Each theme has a preset size for thumbnails, featured photos, etc... depending on where the site intends to use the photo. You can go in and add extra support for other sizes of photos if you really like a particular size. Anytime you upload a photo, wordpress will give an option of the size you put in the functions.php
So no, the size of your photo is not a big deal; however, I personally like my photos to be the perfect size so that I don't get distortion from php resizing. It does happen.
You have probably tried to reduce the size of the photo while keeping the integrity. That means you can never get the perfect height x width, right? The way you go about doing this in web design is to resize the photo then crop off a little of the height or width.
When you give me a link I will check your slider.
Joseph LeeMemberI need a link to your site. I am happy to help you.
Joseph LeeMemberFigured it out. My featured image size was not in the theme function.php. Slip of the hand!
Joseph LeeMemberI had to post again to notify via email lol
Joseph LeeMember?
Joseph LeeMemberIgnore this LOL I just realized blockquote is a tag. LOL
Joseph LeeMemberblockquote {
background: url(images/blockquote.png) no-repeat;
border: none;
margin: 5px 5px 20px;
padding: 25px 30px 5px 70px;
}This is in the style sheet, but how does <> call this? I would think it would have to be <div class="blockquote"> </div> and then have .blocquote in the css.
Please advise! 🙂
Joseph LeeMemberI've added you on Google+ Brad.
Joseph LeeMemberBraddalton, do you allow guest blogging? I would not mind being more involved in your site. It did help me a lot when I was learning Genesis originally.
I can't believe you are not on the community list for tutorials. Some of your content is gold! Some of the sites Genesis has in it's community are a little old and not upkept regularly. If we could vote, you would have mine!
Joseph LeeMemberBraddalton, do you own Wp Sites??
I love this site.
So I can use the genesis export to make an xml file that I could then upload in to other sites? Will it bring the links, pages, posts, widgets (even if simple widget and simple menu) are active?
Joseph LeeMemberSAS, another great example/source will be the AgentPress theme if you have the bundle. The home.php has a widgetized front page that on many clients I use tabbed widget on as a content area. The bottom left and bottom right widgets make up the home page content area and the homepage sidebar. I use the tabbed widget on the content (left home sidebar) all the time.
Joseph LeeMemberWhat a beautiful website. I wish I knew more about the grid to assist you.
Joseph LeeMemberMarket Leader, Tiger Leads, and Boom Town are very similar. Seo Rets is working on a similar contact management solution. I can't wait. I don't think it's going to be 1,500 though. It's going to be made for the normal agent accounts at 40 per agent. I hope ?
Tiger Leads can be worth it. Like you said earlier DP, not many agents can take the site to rank well on google. To use Tiger Leads you either have to rank well or Paid Per Click advertising, which they manage I believe.
Joseph LeeMemberWell, they claim to only offer their services to one broker per area. There are 2 brokers in my board that have it, but they are different "areas." That can be... very subjective. They offer support for Paid Per Click. No additional cost. They also have a built in lead management system. Their feed is a template site. No WordPress.
emeraldcoasthomehunter.com
That is the site url for the local vendor in my board.
Joseph LeeMemberI've only found it in one other offering. BoomTOwn <-- 1,500 a month.
BoomTown might be up there.
SeoRets is only in like 80 boards or something. You can check on their site.
Joseph LeeMemberI forget the pages generated by idx broker platinum are not seo optimized. I am accustomed to using http://seorets.com. Their pages are on site (not a subdomain), generate custom H1 tags, title tags, and download all the pages then rename the seo optimized titles/alt tags. Oh, the site also produced an optimized PDF that is downloadable. The pdf often ranks front page too. hehe
Sorry DP, That time I was promoting my favorite provider. LOL
