Are there plans to make the AgentPress child theme mobile responsive? If so, when will the mobile responsive version of AgentPress be available?
December 20, 2012 at 6:26 pm #6549nickthegeekMemberthe next version of AgentPress is being developed. In fact there is a LOT going on with AgentPress for 2013. I'm not allowed to say anything yet but I can say that Ricardo Bueno was brought on board because of his extensive experience in the real estate community for a reason.
I dont' have any hard dates but it will be a very nice update when it is done.
February 13, 2013 at 12:08 pm #20105cmueller733MemberCan't wait for responsive/mobile agentpress and other updates. Any ETA? Feature list?
February 13, 2013 at 12:19 pm #20107IDX LeadsMemberA couple of months ago I switched from AgentPress to Eleven40 to get mobile responsiveness. Eleven40 is working great as a real estate website.

February 13, 2013 at 12:28 pm #20108mrlaymanMemberDP, could you provide a link to your Eleven40 based real estate website so we could have a look? Thanks!
February 13, 2013 at 12:50 pm #20113cmueller733MemberYes, DP would love to see how it's working for you.
February 13, 2013 at 1:38 pm #20126IDX LeadsMemberThis reply has been marked as private.February 13, 2013 at 1:40 pm #20127Expanding DesignsMemberI created a responsive Agentpress site using Minimum with a customized Agentpress Listings plugin here: http://www.hellerusa.com

February 13, 2013 at 3:00 pm #20142Joseph LeeMemberThis is a RETS feed from the multiple listing services. It's a wordpress plugin and can work on any wordpress site.
Era-Legacy.com is an example.
February 13, 2013 at 3:03 pm #20143Joseph LeeMemberI should have mentioned that SEORETS is not available in every board in the US. However, if an agent can get a broker to request the plugin they frequently move in to the agents board if they have 10-20 agents taht want the plugin.
You do by the way. My site ranks front page for over 1,000 local addresses. Drop IDX. That framed solution will get you zero results. RETS was developed by NAR years ago and never got fully utilized because it hurts ZILLOW, TRULIA, REALTOR.com, HOMES.com in the local search results. SEORETS was a RETS feed developed by a company that does seo for real estate companies.
My entire brokerage is SEO RETS. I am my broker's IT services lol
February 13, 2013 at 4:12 pm #20156IDX LeadsMemberI had this as a private reply but for cmueller773 and any others that are interested here it is:
As you will see, it's Eleven40 straight out of the box. Default color and all. I am also using IDX Broker Platinum, which has its own mobile responsive design as well. The two of them work well together, at least for me.

February 13, 2013 at 6:59 pm #20195Expanding DesignsMemberThat looks nice DP. I just started a responsive IDX Broker Platinum project today, using a custom child theme, although I'm thinking of not using their mobile solution and just customizing the IDX CSS to make it responsive. I used to live in Hickory by the way 🙂

February 13, 2013 at 7:53 pm #20201IDX LeadsMemberThank you for the kind words ED! And I think you are thinking the right thoughts about customizing the mobile wrappers instead of using their standard offering. I have been tinkering with Platinum for about two months now. From your portfolio it appears we share a long-standing appreciation for both IDX Broker and the Genesis framework.

February 13, 2013 at 9:57 pm #20213cmueller733MemberDP, good work with the site.
ED/DP-I just signed up for IDXexpress as it seemed to be the "go to" IDX plugin for AgentPress, and seemed to have a good integration and robust out of the box functionality. Should I be rethinking this move and look at IDX broker? Any significant differences?
February 14, 2013 at 8:27 am #20304Expanding DesignsMembercmueller733, I'm not terribly familiar with Diverse Solutions/IDXexpress as I only work with IDX Broker . But Agentpress has built-in CSS styling for dsIDXpress, so depending on your skillset, that might be easiest for you. For me, that has no bearing, as its just a relatively small chunk of CSS I could just write myself. Diverse Solutions vs IDX Broker is a long standing debate (that's been talked about on the old forum a few times) but I started with IDX Broker years ago and I've stuck with it ever since for clients because, for a developer, it gives you a lot of options for customizing and the tech support is very friendly and helpful.
Some people will swear up and down one is better than the other. Or that their lead generation improved after switching from one to the other. I personally think you could build a successful site out of either one just as easily (although building a successful site isn't easy).

February 14, 2013 at 8:34 am #20307Joseph LeeMemberDebating whether Diverse Solutions or IDXBroker/Express etc... is better about lead generation is pointless. They are both IDX. That is old technology. RETS is where lead conversion is at... When you click on a property on IDX you are lucky if you are on your domain. Furthermore, if you ARE on your domain you are in an iframe. There is NO seo value to IDX. RETS brings the listings to your site, thus you can rank on google with trulia, zillow, homes, realtor, etc...
I hate when I see agents get taken advantage of companies that sell IDX framed solutions. I am an agent and a developer. If you are an agent or developer and you buy/push that garbage... You are only hurting yourself. I have 100's of feeds in boards in NW Florida. My sites rank on google for the address of the home; which is HUGE.
It's called the long tail in seo. More buyers google the address of a house they passed on their way to work. That or the street name. IDX will never help you rank for these terms.
Go to ERA-LEGACY.com and see it for yourself. Click on search and when you see a property on the screen, look at the URL addresss. It's SEO optimized for google. Look at the <H1> tag in the code. It's SEO optimized... The title? Optimized...
February 14, 2013 at 8:46 am #20309IDX LeadsMembercmueller733, thank you! As far as out of the box IDX plugins and ease of installation go I think you will be fine with what you have as long as you don't need/want advanced functionality. IDX Broker is a fully-featured IDX that offers a plugin to simplify installation of some of its core features. There is a huge difference between the two.
Go to this page where your plugin is branded as "dsIDXexpress Basic IDX Plugin" and compare its functionality to the two more fully-featured offerings from Diverse Solutions.

February 14, 2013 at 10:08 am #20318IDX LeadsMemberJoseph Lee, ERA-LEGACY.com is a very nice looking site, and you make a good point about <h1> tags, but you are misinforming this forum's visitors when you lump all IDX solutions in one basket. My IDX solution is not framed, it uses urls based on my domain and indexes accordingly, it competes well for visitors googling street addresses and other long tail keywords, it converts visitors into leads, and it provides a tremendous return on investment.
Many interests take advantage of real estate agents, not just template website and IDX providers. It's also WordPress designers that do a poor job of implementing IDX solutions for their clients. They focus instead on stroking their clients' egos with theme customizations. If these resources were applied to proper implementation of a good IDX solution, you would have far more competition for your coveted long tail keywords. You can take that to the bank.

February 14, 2013 at 10:24 am #20322Joseph LeeMemberI am going to do some research on this IDX Platinum plugin. It looks like they are housing the page on their site, then doing a domain map to make it look as if the information is on your URL; which is okay as far as google is concerned. I am just wondering how they stop duplicate content. They can't 301 your webpage because they use the pages for all their clients.
February 14, 2013 at 12:38 pm #203454WardMotionMemberI'm in the process of designing a new website for a small local real estate office in my area and one of the things that we are wanting to do is find a good IDX/RETS WordPress plugin (needs to be responsive) that will work with our local MLS. I'm very interested to know what you guys would recommend for this. We were looking at IDXBroker as they are in our area, but after reading the posts above from Joseph Lee and DP, I'm very interested to hear more on RETS, SEO and what you guys would recommend for this. SEO is very important for us and so is ease of use for the client.
I would love to know what the best solutions out there for this are, even if they are not in our area yet we will pursue getting them here if it is to our advantage. Thanks for the help!
