Thanks MoodyRivera. I was trying to crop the photos down to the exact recommended dimensions using Pixlr before uploading them to WordPress. It was only after I purchased the five stock photos I really liked that I realized the 550 px height was going to cause problems. I was hoping there was a 'trick' to resizing and cropping to make the photos fit my dimensions.
I am going to try to find some other photos which are closer to the dimensions I need. Until then, I might try to resize and crop to a smaller width which will leave white space on each side. Not exactly what I want, but I think it will work.
If I ever get it worked out, I will post back here.
Johnny_PMemberHi Brock. It's a third party Genesis theme: http://demo.simpleprothemes.com/flex/agency/.
The photo sizes I purchased were 3463x2592, 2714x1822, and 2716x1810. The next smaller sizes for the respective photos are
1602x1199, 1697x1131, 1698x1131. I went with the larger sizes since I thought it would be easy enough to resize the width to 1900.I have not activated the theme on the site yet since I am waiting to see if I can resolve the photo issue. The theme can be set up in a boxed layout with recommended image size of 1080x550. It would probably be easier to get the photos I purchased to fit that size, but the main thing I liked about the theme was the slider photos going across the full width of the page.
Johnny_PMemberJust wanted to say thanks for this thread. I had the same question as bizchick200 and Christoph's answer solved it. Thanks!
PS - Nice site bizchick200. It looks really nice!
Johnny_PMemberHi Jen. I am also learning through the "looking at how others did something and then type 10 million search queries into the engines" method. Your sites look great; much better than what I've done so far.
Keep up the good work!
