Hi! Your header is looking crisp for me, were you able to get this sorted?
Jodi PMemberHey Liz,
We've spoken via Foodie support and I believe all of your questions have been answered and that you've been able to import all of your content and that you know moving forward you'll want to upload your images at 680px wide minimum. Please get in touch with us again if you have any other questions!
November 21, 2014 at 7:47 am in reply to: Theme: Foodie Pro – Genesis: Feature Amplified Widget Question #132382Jodi PMemberHi! This is a plugin bug. We have a few suggestions as a work around:
1. When you choose the dropdown option, hold your mouse down and keep it held down while you go to the selection you want. Then, release the mouse on that selection. Save.
2. Click the options with your mouse, then use the up/down arrow on your keyboard to quickly select what you want to display. Save.
3. Using the 'tab' key within the widget to select the different options may also help.I usually set up the settings in Firefox instead of Chrome, and I have better luck with it.
P.S.-It looks like you are using original Foodie and not Foodie Pro, but the upgrade to Pro is free if you want to take advantage!
Jodi PMemberHi! If you contact Foodie support we'd be happy to provide you with a landing page file. You can contact us by filling out this form: http://shaybocks.com/support/
Best,
JodiJodi PMemberFoodie support recommends following the tutorial referenced above and making changes to both your style.css and functions.php files via FTP. Here is a great tutorial that walks you through how to use FTP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP6VFGAls28.
Once you get your header resized then you may need to follow this tutorial to get your header looking good on mobile devices: http://thepixelista.com/responsive-genesis-child-theme-logo/.

JodiAugust 20, 2014 at 6:28 am in reply to: Foodie Theme: how to make site switch from responsive view to desktop view #119972Jodi PMemberI came across this recently. Haven' tried to implement it myself! http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/201303/letting_users_disable_responsive_layout/
Jodi PMemberTo deactivate the mobile toggle menu, find this snippet in the functions.php file:
/**
* Load all required JavaScript for the Foodie theme.
*
* @since 1.0.1
*/
function foodie_enqueue_js() {
$js_uri = get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/lib/js/';
// Add general purpose scripts.
wp_enqueue_script( 'foodie-general', $js_uri . 'general.js', array( 'jquery' ), '1.0.0', true );
}and comment it out by adding // before each line like this:
/**
* Load all required JavaScript for the Foodie theme.
*
* @since 1.0.1
*/
//function foodie_enqueue_js() {
//$js_uri = get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/lib/js/';
// Add general purpose scripts.
//wp_enqueue_script( 'foodie-general', $js_uri . 'general.js', array( 'jquery' ), '1.0.0', true );
//}Then you will also need to comment out or remove the menu-toggle styling in the style.css file.
Jodi PMemberYou can change the size of your header by editing this snippet in the functions.php file:
//* Add support for custom header.
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array(
'width' => 400,
'height' => 170
)
);Just replace the width and height with the dimensions of your header image. You'll also need to adjust the style.css file in this snippet:
.header-image .site-title a {
float: none;
min-height: 164px;
width: 100%;
}by replacing the min-height property with the height of your image.
Please keep in mind that any changes you make will also affect how the header is displayed on mobile devices. If your header is very wide, it may not look good for mobile.
Jodi PMemberHappy I could help. Sorry it took me so long to get there, I really should have caught that from the get go!
Jodi PMemberI'm guessing you now just need to make sure both "Work With Pagination" and "Show Page Navigation" are selected in the Home Bottom widget!
Jodi PMemberI'm so sorry I didn't catch this before, but the pagination is designed to work with the Home Bottom section and you aren't using the Home Bottom. You can get the pagination to work with the Home Middle, though, with a little change in the style.css file.
Find this section of code:
.paged .home-middle,
.paged .home-top {
display: none;
visibility: hidden;
}and replace it with:
.paged .home-top {
display: none;
visibility: hidden;
}Hopefully that'll get you going in the right direction!
Jodi PMemberAlso, sometimes when the pagination doesn't work there are inconsistencies within the Genesis theme settings and Reading settings. Please make sure you have the same number for Genesis>Theme Settings>Blog Page Template>Number of Posts to Show and Settings>Reading>Blog Pages Show at Most.
Jodi PMemberSure. From your dashboard go to Settings>Reading and it is the first setting at the top!
Jodi PMemberCan you check your reading settings and make sure you have "Your Latest Posts" selected?
Jodi PMemberAlso, it doesn't look like you have the Recipes Top section set up. You'll need to get that set up for the Recipes Bottom section to work!
Jodi PMemberDo you have categories assigned to your posts? The recipe index will not pull posts if categories are not assigned.
Jodi PMemberI realize this is an older post, but for reference, you won't have to reconfigure your widgets and settings after installing the new theme - it will all pop back into place. However, If you have made customizations to style.css or functions.php, you will need to add those back in.
Jodi PMemberUsually when the pagination doesn't work beyond a certain point there are inconsistencies within the genesis theme settings and Settings>Reading section. Please try checking if the Genesis theme settings>Blog page template and Settings>Reading are the same.
Jodi PMemberFoodie is not styled to work that way out of the box. You can get it set up that way by using the Genesis Grid Loop plugin and retrofitting it to your site if you're comfortable with css/php.
