    I actually tried that last night but for reasons I don't understand, no cloning or migration tools will work on the original site. The plugins show up with half the stuff missing, no graphics and the buttons do nothing. I have tried turning off all other plugins, in case it was a conflict, but it didn't make any difference. If I do a fresh WP install in another directory (with a slightly newer version of WP) all those plugins work fine but they will not work on the source site. I'm at my wits end. I feel so stupid!

    I figured it out. The min-width on the images was set to 100%. I removed that completely and the text is now next to the image.
