February 21, 2017 at 7:18 am in reply to: Home page title tag being overridden in Digital Pro #201697
Janiani
MemberJust checking back on this... And Victor, you said they display as text or image...
But what's happening is that the text that's being displayed is meaningless and being picked up, not from the header, but from the Front Page Display that's almost at the bottom of the page, where mine is the title of a testimonials slider... what people say (as mentioned is nondescript).
Is there a way of changing this, so who the site is for (from my site title and description) is shown instead?
Many thanks.

MemberThanks Susan, someone helped with it in the FB group, tick!

MemberThanks Brad
I only want it on one page.and was formerly using Jetpack's Edit CSS for all site modifications. The latest WP version knocked that out so am modifying in the customisation area on WordPress... it'll look like this...
/*Landing page for sign up*/
.page-id-22106 .gd-full-width, .gd-full-width .site-container, .gd-full-width .site-container .site-inner, .gd-full-width .site-container .site-inner .wrap, .gd-full-width .site-container .content-sidebar-wrap, .gd-full-width .site-container main.content, .gd-full-width .site-container main.content > article.entry, .gd-full-width .site-container main.content > article.entry .entry-content {
background: #e9e4de;
}THEN
The code I'm missing to knock out the transparent-background-color that is hiding the pages ability to read the full color width...
Hope it's making sense?
Janiani
MemberHi Brad
Thanks, but perhaps my query wasn't clear... Although I can turn off the transparent background color feature in Inspect Element, I don't know how to translate that into CSS to instruct the same? I've tried a range of things, but none worked.

MemberThanks @Victor, I gave that a whirl, but it didn't quite work, but thank you. @Carasmo, what a brilliant plugin, I've just installed it and it works like a dream.
I have a question though. I want to create a sign up (landing) page where I'm using the Genesis Dambuster to create a wide page. That done I want to use a text widget with the Genesis eNews Extended widget (to recreate the home page on the theme I'm using - Digital Pro),
Which means I want them to appear side by side, is it possible... was hoping to include an image of the home page look that I want to replicate, but seems I can't just upload... so here's the url if you scroll down you'll see the optin area includes the two widgets mentioned.
Thanks again for the plugin reco, it's a little gem.

MemberThank you.
That one requires use of the Text Editor, and I usually work in html, and WP advise again switching between the two, saying it risks losing some code. Are there any other suggestions?
I want a standalone page to send people through to, with a url (Lead pages fashion). And to make it easier for people to have one page, one action. Does that make sense?
Would welcome your ideas.
Thanks again.

MemberNot sure why I didn't see a notification, sorry for delay. Thanks for your response, got that issue sorted with Jetpack's help, i.e. they helped me retrieve the mislaid code, which could then add into the WP Additional CSS area. Jetpack are working on a work-around.
I make all my site adjustments through the Customizer area, you mention two, where's the other?
Thanks again.

MemberThis image and button problem is still not resolved. I'm probably having an issue with it because I chose an image I could add some text to... But what happens, no matter how the image is sized is that the top of the image is cut off.
I've had it at 1600 x 1050 your recommended. I've cut it down to 1000 px x 450 px. Is there a solution to this because there's nowhere else on the home page for a decent marketing message, otherwise I absolutely love the theme.
Any thoughts please...
Janiani
MemberThank you, Victor
It's out of MM now... if you get chance of another look at it.

MemberAdding this now, as have more clarity on the problem... let's start again...
I want to use the Digital Pro 1600 x 1050 size but it's not behaving as it should.
There appear to be two ways to load it and the instructions with the theme seem to suggest using both, which I've tried and that doesn't work either.:
You can add the image through Widget-Text and it appears with a white picture-frame style border (not ideal) or adding it through Appearances-Customise results in the image coming in too large and cutting areas off on all sides.
But additionally the button image sits either above or below the image, so it looks like this theme prefers the image to be added in Customise and the button needs to go into the text widget.
Any suggestions please?

MemberSorry to jump in here, but I did start a new thread at #196226 and haven't heard back, but probably haven't described it well enough there either. I want to use the Digital Pro 1600 x 1050 size but it's not behaving as it should.

MemberThanks I've since changed the theme anyways! 🙂
Janiani
MemberThe recommended size is inside the Front Page Image of the Customise area... If you're looking to do similar, you access it through Appearances in WP.

MemberThank you, that's worked like a dream.
Now I'm being a bit cheeky here, and asking a further question so please don't feel obliged to answer it.
Looking at the other aspects this plugin includes would I be able to use one of those fields to place a full signature after my posts. Currently I'm copying and pasting every time it's needed, and still have tons to amend, as recently changed my market.
My sign off goes something like this:

MemberThanks both, and Victor, realise I just needed to find a slider that produced a shortcode. Ended up using one called Smart Slider 3, quite simple and free...
That's one more thing ticked off the list...
