I see it did make it better for the iphone, but when I see the site on the laptop I'm still getting double lines of the menu bar.
janburgMemberThat didn't cause any change unfortunately.
And yes, I warned the client about Google and the ranking, they are totally unconcerned. What they want is to copy this site: http://www.chapagency.com/index.html in how it resizes. They are also young and have great eyesight.
janburgMemberThat wasn't quite the answer, but it did lead me to the problem which was the sizes of the header widget and title areas in the max-width: 1200px section.
Thanks!
janburgMemberExcellent, that did it, and I learned something new today. Thank you!

janburgMemberAh, that was it, thank you so much! Now I can stop banging my head on the wall.
janburgMemberI have matching <div> and </div> all along both the home and instructor bio pages. But something is blocking all divs from doing what they are supposed to do. On the home page, there are divs to add a color background behind the table elements, but those are now not showing up. I'm guessing it may be something in the style sheet but I have no clue what....
janburgMemberWell, the columns should be unbalanced, I only want the first two to be side by side, the other two instructors would be underneath the top two columns. The first column contains more content, so that is set up as two-thirds, and the second column would only be one-third.
Do i need first and last in there?
janburgMemberYes, that was it! Thanks so much! Opacity on submenu works too. Awesome! Now I can stop beating my head against the wall 🙂
janburgMemberThat did it, and I learned something about class and id too, thanks.
Now to figure out how I messed up the header background.... One problem at a time.
November 6, 2014 at 11:30 am in reply to: header widget: phone number disappearing in mobile #130691janburgMemberI'm going backwards here - now my header image is the one specified by the header customizer in WP, not the image specified by the css. When I opt for no header image in WP, the css image does not show either.
Since I didn't change anything in the header that started this issue, I'm lost. All I wanted was to get the phone number to show up in the mobile version. I've deleted the changes I've tried in the css to get that to work, when this issue popped up.
Any help here please????
janburgMemberIt turned out to be a functions.php file issue, where it was allowing for a custom header. Once I removed that bit of code, the css then worked.
Just in case anyone else has this issue.janburgMemberI'm not sure what you mean?
Firebug says the color is set by the file named sitename.com - the css file is names style.css so the css is not changing the background color but being overwritten by the sitename.com file. In this case the site is shertekinc.com, so the file name is shertekinc.com that is overwriting the css. How do I find this file?
janburgMemberYup, that was it, Jetpack mobile is now deactivated and the logo and header widget both are visible. Thanks!
janburgMemberNo, not using WPTouch, would it be something in Jetpack doing this?
BTW, I did figure out the double logo issue, but am still missing the logo on the mobile site.
janburgMemberanother issue I see, when the mobile device is sent to the whole web site, the logo shows up twice. Help please????
janburgMemberAwesome! I had to change the transparent to #fff, and add the last-child to the div tag to make it work. You probably knew that, but this is for the next time I come looking for this feature. But it works, thanks!
janburgMemberOk, what's a good responsive alternative to making the tabs look separate, especially on a mobile device? right now my tabs are all running together - I'm up for options. Thanks for the suggestions.

janburgMemberYes, I thought I could just update Genesis Frameworks and the child theme would start to work, but ended up having to go with a new Frameworks Child theme too, there were too many differences between the old XHTML and HTML5 to make a smooth transition.
However, I'm still working on a viable responsive header. The tutorial I was referred to by Copyblogger Media Support, This tutorial talks about creating a responsive logo: http://thepixelista.com/responsive-genesis-child-theme-logo/
left me with the logo in about 5 places up and down the iphone screen. Which leads me to wonder, is there a way to have an alt tag or description go along with a header image, for SEO and reader-accessible sites?janburgMemberPerfect!
One of these days I need to learn php.
Thanks for your help.
janburgMemberoops, wrote too fast, the link still doesn't take me to the top?
