No sorry!
I have to take that back. I'm not seeing the big bad white screen anymore. I made the mistake of copying the code from my email instead of from this thread. When I used the code from this thread directly everything was just fine.
The only problem is that the codes didn't work. I tried it with different browsers before and after clearing all history. But everything was still the same.
Do you know what the reason might be?
Thank you in advance!
HashimMemberDear Davinder Singh Kainth,
Thank you so much for spending the time to respond to my question!
I've tried your suggestions. Unfortunately I'm getting the big bad white screen when I add the codes in the functions.php file of my child theme.
The custom php code I haven't tried yet, because I don't know where to add that code. Maybe you provide me with some extra information to help me find the right place to put the code.
Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
Hashim Naushahi
HashimMemberSolved!
Initially I didn't know what to look for. But now I know it's Retina.
Thanks to the support that has been given before me, I now have a crisp logo image on mobile devices!

HashimMemberHi Brad,
My sincere apologies for asking additional questions in this thread. You're right about starting a new topic for every new question. I've marked this question as resolved.
Thanks again for your help!

HashimMemberHi Brad,
Thank you so much for your reply! I didn't expect an answer so fast and it proved to be very helpful! I would have responded sooner, but due to my daughter becoming sick, I couldn't continue my work. Luckily, she's all better now! 🙂
I prefer adding the code without the plugin, and thanks to you I found the place where to add the code. With Genesis Simple Hooks I added the code for the Custom Sharing Buttons in the Genesis_entry_header and Genesis_entry_footer. And now when I look at my posts, the buttons show up at the beginning of every post underneath the title and above the date and author name and at the end of every post right after the tags.
This is all because of your guidelines, and I'm very grateful for it! Thank you!
I hope you could help me accomplish three more small things...
The first is that now the social sharing buttons not only show up in my posts but also in my excerpts. And I don't want that. Do you know how I can fix that? The only thing I did is add the code that I got from AddThis for it in the Genesis_entry_header and Genesis_entry_footer and nothing else.
The second is that somehow the same number of Facebook likes is showing on all of my posts. So I suspect that the counter doesn't show the likes of the posts, but the likes of the website itself. Do you know how I can make the necessary changes so that the counter doesn't show the website likes but the blog post likes?
The third is that I'd like to customize the buttons somehow that they don't line up to the left but maybe to the right or centered. What really would be awesome is if the buttons (four or five) can be modified in such a way that they're stretched out so that the total width of the blog post is covered. But I don't know how to customize. Do you know how I can make such customizations or where I can find the information I need to do this? I'll probably make the same customizations for the follow buttons in the sidebar.
Thank you once again, Brad! I really hope you can help me with my final questions about this plugin. You're site is truly amazing and I bet that a lot of WordPress developers and designers are very happy with your site. I wouldn't be surprised if your website is the number one resource online for everything related to WordPress. 😉

This is the URL to my website:
Sorry for not mentioning this earlier. I'm using the Epik theme just like the site:
Basically I'm looking for the same way to put my search box inside my header next to my navigation menu.
I hope this information helps. Thank you in advance!

HashimMemberDear Anitac,
Thank you for trying to help me with this.
The new link to the post is:
http://jackabox.co.uk/blog/toggle-a-search-box-with-jquery
I tried to follow the exact steps as follows:
I copied the html for the Search box in to the header.php file in the Epik theme (which I copied from the header.php in the Genesis theme).
I copied the CSS into my styles.css file.
I copied the jQuery into the footer.php file in the Epik theme (which I also copied from the footer.php in the Genesis theme)
These instructions I got from Jack who wrote this post.
But after trying that, this is the error I received:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/laylamaj/public_html/wp-content/themes/epik/header.php on line 40
Do you know what I'm doing wrong? I selected the code exactly as it is in his post and copied it into my file.
I hope you can help me finally get this thing working. Also in order for this to work what should I do with the Search widget and the widget area for my header? Maybe I'm not getting this to work because I'm using a child theme which offers the option to add widgets in my header.
Thank you in advance, Anitac!
Sincerely,
Hashim
HashimMemberDear Anitac,
Thank you for your reply!
This will be really helpful. The explanation on that page is very clear. The only problem is, that I don't know how to edit the html. Or better mentioned, how to access the file which contains the html. Do you know how I can edit html?
Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
Hashim
