Thank you, its like magic, when I searched in style sheet I didn't find it, then when you pointed it out, it popped right up, thanks again!
handsunParticipantThat was the problem, I was using Genesis extender, so I switched that off, and then changed settings in Genesis, Theme Settings to show full length article, added the code to functions.php and voila, thank you so much!!
handsunParticipantI added this entire code above to the bottom of the functions.php in education pro and did not get a comment form on the home page, is there a step I am missing, thanks so much. I read in another post that I need to add
add_action( ‘genesis_after_loop’, ‘genesis_comments’ ) to front-page.phpI am using the Genesis featured posts widget to display the post on the home page
handsunParticipanthandsunParticipantThank you all so much, those missing lines did the trick, perhaps Simple Edits was not the cause of the hack but just staying away from it in this site, I did update server password and wp database pw, thank again all of you and Happy Labor Day!!
handsunParticipantSomehow the plugin was hacked, unless they hacked in another way then just infected the Simple Edits plugin, I have already scanned the site and nothing else was found. I would like to remove the footer info, any idea why this won't work or what else I can do to remove footer info
/** Remove Genesis Footer Link */
remove_action(‘genesis_footer’, ‘genesis_do_footer’);
handsunParticipantit is not hostgator, this is what they said

handsunParticipantI already deleted the plugin but now I am trying to use this to remove footer info by adding this to the bottom of functions.php and itthe footer stuff is still there
/** Remove Genesis Footer Link */
remove_action(‘genesis_footer’, ‘genesis_do_footer’);
handsunParticipantI am now dealing with this issue, should I submit a ticket? The client does not like the altered look
handsunParticipantWow, thanks for the input, I am going to be moving the site with Duplicator which does a pretty good job with absolute paths, and then run Velvet Blue for any missed urls (usually in the widgets) So basically if I want all pages to https, just use a 301 redirect and don't bother with plugin! Thanks again
handsunParticipanthandsunParticipantthanks to jbculp for this:
handsun,
I can’t remember where I got this reference but I’ve installed Eric Decker’s Genesis Featured Page Extra plugin which has more controls and the custom HTML will hold a break. This plugin should allow you to do whatever you need. Worked for me.

handsunParticipantThanks for the feedback, I too just alter the code, but want to feel like I am also using "best practices". I have the Genesis Extender which does the css on the front-end, and creates a custom.css in another folder, and sometimes for small changes I will use that, but ftp and style.css are my main change agents!
handsunParticipant4 seconds is pretty long when you are looking at a site and you can see the text and then the slideshow pops in, it just looks bad to me. I was hoping to have it load with the page.
