Marcy, sorry for this late reply.
Thank you very much for all your messages! 🙂
glaucoMemberThank you.
I'm not confident enough to make those changes.
Genesis is wonderful. It makes the site structure much better. But it fails in this case. Responsive menu for all kinds of mobile screens should be automatic. I should not be lost here.
glaucoMemberHello! Thank you for your reply.
The responsive menu (hamburger) works perfectly. This is not my problem.
Let's consider my Nexus 6, which has a big screen (for a smartphone, of course).
When in portrait orientation, I see the responsive menu (hamburger). It works fine with subitems in the menu.
But, when I turn the orientation to landscape, or when I visit the page using a tablet, I see the REGULAR menu -- the same I see when using my desktop. Here is the problem. I cannot see the subitems.
I'll explain again.
I had these options in my menu:
= Germany
== Berlin (subitem)
=== Restaurants (subitem - one more level)What do I expect? If I tap GERMANY, I should see the other 2 options. But GERMANY works directly as a link and makes my browser go to GERMANY.
The responsive menu (hamburger) is not affected by this problem. I see a + in the item, indicating that I can open subitems there.
This is very serious. It shouldn't happen with Genesis.
glaucoMemberOh, sorry, I understand now. I'll try!
I'll come back later to tell you the result. 🙂
glaucoMemberThank you for your attention.
The Featured Posts widget comes after the Featured Tabs.
This Featured Posts is already set to NOT show previously displayed posts, but this is not working.
glaucoMemberHi!
No, it doesn't. But it comes first, so there's no previous post to exclude. Maybe you would suggest to insert it after the other widget.
glaucoMemberHi!
The Tabs widget appears first.
The following widget, Featured Posts, is set to NOT show previously displayed posts, but it's not working.
glaucoMemberHi!
Thank you, again, for all of your attention.
It is OK now. I'm using Soliloquy. I could find a way to change via css. Now I can see post titles in mobile version too.
🙂glaucoMemberThank you for your attention.
I've just tried Soliloquy. Very interesting, but it also removes post titles in mobile version. Useless.
Without post titles, the widget turns to be a simple image gallery. What I need is a box with FEATURED POSTS. My reader sees an image and...well, what's this post about?
I've tried a lot of plugins. I couldn't imagine that this would be a tough mission.
glaucoMemberOK, it doesn't work. (Hello, StudioPress!)
I changed all featured images to the standard 740x400 pixels for Home Top in my template. Now all the images appear correctly in both desktop and mobile versions. BUT post titles are shown only partially in mobile version, which still makes this plugin useless to me. Please, take a look:
There's no sense in removing post titles in mobile version. My visitors will see some photos sliding, but what's each post about? Very strange. The plugin turns to be a simple image gallery, when its purpose is to feature some posts.
Studio Press, more and more people use mobile devices to browse the web...
glaucoMemberThank you, Brock.
It would be useless to show images without post TITLE. (I don't use content/excerpt.)
You have a point, I will try with same size images -- and come back here later to tell how it's working.
glaucoMemberThank you for your reply.
I repeat, I LOVE Genesis/Studio Press & my template. I respect you a lot. I just don't understand why so difficult now to add a mobile frindly widget. Please, I'm sorry for my words about this.
Well, here is what I see in Chrome/Android. The image usually does not fill all the space, and we can't read all the post title. Sometimes it works, just like in the screen shot with Sherlock Holmes statue.
Thank you!
glaucoMemberThank you for your attention.
Easing Slider has some problems here too. I cannot add slides.
And I need a featured POSTS box, not only a box to slide images. I nedd a box with image, post title, and link. That's what we have with Genesis Responsive Slider, but, as I said before, it does not work on mobile versions.
glaucoMemberYes!
Thank you, Susan!
glaucoMemberHi!
Thank you.
That piece of text is not there.
When I move the cursor over "Genesis", I see the options "Theme Settungs" and "Import/Export". There's no SEO settings there. I deleted all SEO plugins already, cleared browser cache, etc.
glaucoMemberOK, I've just found a plugin...
