MemberHello.
I'm trying to add a featured posts box in my viagemfantastica.com. I can't find any good plugin for this.
I should use Studio Press GENESIS RESPONSIVE SLIDER, but it does NOT work with the mobile version in my blog.
Any help?
Thank you.
(By the way, it's very strange to see the widget not working on mobile version. This should be a priority to Studio Press. I LOVE Genesis and my template, but the product lacks some more important widgets updated to this time of mobile life. I mean, I should not be in a "battle" to add a simple responsive slider in my blog. Other template makers usually offer this.)

ParticipantTry Easing Slider
And its best to hook it in directly using the sliders function rather than using a short code in a widget.

MemberThank you for your attention.
Easing Slider has some problems here too. I cannot add slides.
And I need a featured POSTS box, not only a box to slide images. I nedd a box with image, post title, and link. That's what we have with Genesis Responsive Slider, but, as I said before, it does not work on mobile versions.

MemberWhen you say that Genesis Responsive Slider doesn't work, can you explain in more detail what it is or isn't doing? Generally, it works on mobile. Thanks.

MemberThank you for your reply.
I repeat, I LOVE Genesis/Studio Press & my template. I respect you a lot. I just don't understand why so difficult now to add a mobile frindly widget. Please, I'm sorry for my words about this.
Well, here is what I see in Chrome/Android. The image usually does not fill all the space, and we can't read all the post title. Sometimes it works, just like in the screen shot with Sherlock Holmes statue.
Thank you!

MemberHey @glauco, no worries buddy. I don't work for StudioPress. I am just trying to help you solve the issue.
I think what is happening is that your images are different sizes. Also, the slider settings have an option to
hide title & content on Mobile Devices
. That was probably added because the caption text gets a little unwieldy at smaller sizes. This is probably something you could remedy with CSS media queries by making the text titles smaller for the mobile breakpoints. The main issue, though, is your varying image sizes. Try it out with same size images if possible and see how that changes how the slider behaves.
All the best

MemberThank you, Brock.
It would be useless to show images without post TITLE. (I don't use content/excerpt.)
You have a point, I will try with same size images -- and come back here later to tell how it's working.

MemberOK, it doesn't work. (Hello, StudioPress!)
I changed all featured images to the standard 740x400 pixels for Home Top in my template. Now all the images appear correctly in both desktop and mobile versions. BUT post titles are shown only partially in mobile version, which still makes this plugin useless to me. Please, take a look:
There's no sense in removing post titles in mobile version. My visitors will see some photos sliding, but what's each post about? Very strange. The plugin turns to be a simple image gallery, when its purpose is to feature some posts.
Studio Press, more and more people use mobile devices to browse the web...

ParticipantI don' t generally use this slider (I usually use Soliloquy or Meta Slider Pro) - but one way to approach this in general is to style it so that the caption is shown below the image in mobile. This way the image is seen all clear and the caption is also visible in a neat way below the image (reduce caption font size obviously)

MemberLikewise, I tend not to use the Genesis Responsive Slider for this very reason. I was disappointed in the outcome.
Without the post title, the featured images in the slide usually carry no meaning and the slider becomes a pointless slide show on mobile.
We use LayerSlider at the moment, yet I intend to investigate Soliloquy as an alternative. I see it mentioned a lot.

MemberThank you for your attention.
I've just tried Soliloquy. Very interesting, but it also removes post titles in mobile version. Useless.
Without post titles, the widget turns to be a simple image gallery. What I need is a box with FEATURED POSTS. My reader sees an image and...well, what's this post about?
I've tried a lot of plugins. I couldn't imagine that this would be a tough mission.

ParticipantThe title caption in Soliloquy is removed via css - you can just enable it back in your own css

ModeratorHow about setting the post title display to be 100% of the width of the slider?

MemberHi!
Thank you, again, for all of your attention.
It is OK now. I'm using Soliloquy. I could find a way to change via css. Now I can see post titles in mobile version too.
