Memberwebfocusdesign:
As it turns out, it was the fact that the database needed to upgraded as described by okieman in #2 above. I didn't think that was it because I had already run the "update network" process (this is a multisite install). However, our WP update had been pushed from a version control system and although the files got updated, the database had not. So go to your-domain-whatever.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php and if it says a database upgrade is needed, that should do it.

Memberokieman: Thanks for the reply. The problem is not #2 or #3, and #1 is pretty vague, so I've opened a support ticket and we'll see what they say. I was hoping to at least find some background info or a place to start looking but for now I've just reverted to 2.2.5.

MemberYou're not the only one with this problem, I have it too. Just Google "genesis Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in term-meta.php on line 256" and you will see that many others have it as well.

MemberIt appears to be the latest version of WordPress SEO that creates the conflict and makes Genesis breadcrumbs disappear. You can get the WP SEO breadcrumbs to work by enabling them under the Internal Links settings. However, that's not a great solution if you have customized the Genesis breadcrumbs and wish to keep using them.
I have posted a comment on Yoast's blog asking about this.
