ParticipantThank you for feedback. You mean MagazinePro is an old theme? Why? I like it although of course something could be done better. Yes, it works ok.
Do you know of an update of MagazinePro or a better one?

ParticipantHi Victor,
Thank you for explaining bout Atomic Blocks vs Genesis Block. Will proceed with the upgrade.
Understood about the Imagick issue - will speak to my host and if settled with write here about how it all resolved. Thank you, you are of great help!

ParticipantHi @codeshim
I have the same issue about forum's notifying me about new replies to this thread because I don't get any. Probably we have to raise a flag to forum admins because it looks like "Notify me of follow-up replies" function doesn't work. Checked my Social/Promotion/Spam but I haven't found any notifications.
I have asked the same question on Google Forums and received an answer that "these are both related to crawl Budget Issues. Ie Google DIDNT fetch the page/resource...
There is no 'magic fix' to crawl budget issues, other than there being 'too many' to crawl."Here is the link to the answer: https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/137142809/non-indexed-page-is-mobile-friendly-and-not-mobile-friendly-at-the-same-time-in-search-console?hl=en
So I have decided to put it on hold for now as I don't see a clear answer to that.

ParticipantHi @codeshim,
Thank you for the feedback! Noted on CSS issues.
Still, what puzzles me is why some blog posts are indexed while others, done using the same template and theme, are excluded from the Google index.
Example of indexed post:
Examples of non-indexed posts:
1. https://moneysaurus.com/wines-and-spirits/scotch-vs-bourbon-vs-rye-why-you-should-try-them-all/
2. https://moneysaurus.com/gems-and-gold/how-to-pick-a-diamond-and-engagement-ring/I believe that both indexed and non-indexed posts have the same CSS (as they are based on the same template and theme) but Google treats them differently, saying that non-indexed pages have Mobile Usability issues, namely 'text is too small to read' and 'clickable elements too close together.' (which isn't true as far as I can judge).
Could it be that Google keeps a certain portion of blog posts (for example, 3 posts out of 20 as in my case) out of the index all the time, indexing them as long as new posts are added?
October 9, 2021 at 4:19 pm in reply to: Updating PHP: does it have anything to do with StudioPress themes? #504527EugeneHunt
ParticipantHi Victor,
Thank you for your expanded reply. That makes everything much more clear to me. Having read what you said, I choose to play safe and upgrade to PHP 7.4 as prompted in my dashboard. Don't see any immediate benefits of having PHP 8 for the moment for me.
Thank you again!

ParticipantThank you! I somehow missed your answer as I was looking for an alert for new answers in my Gmail. Will check on Google forums.

ParticipantHi Victor,
Thank you for your feedback. Understood about absence of sitemap templates in Genesis. As I couldn't wait to try the HTML sitemap, I wrote to Studiopress support and got help the next day. Thank you anyway!

ParticipantHi Victor,
Thank you, that makes perfect sense. Sure, I will use WordPress feature to make my life easier.
Do you think I will be ok with PNG file format for 512x-512 image or it is better to use SVG/something else?

ParticipantAnita,
Thank you for your feedback. I also think that non-index/nofollow is a safer bet. Will try implementing.

ParticipantBYW, another issue which I wanted to address here is whether you in anyway tackle the question of this new page considered as duplicate content on Google. Do you exclude this Instagram page from Google indexing or just leave it as is?

ParticipantHi Anita,
Thank you so much for providing me with the link and your thread. I will definitely look into this and will try to create a page on my website for this purpose.
Thank you again and have a great weekend.

ParticipantHi beggers,
Hope this finds you well. Just wanted to let you know that your site Moviedebuts.com has the same issues I have described in this thread, i.e. captions for photos showing in excerpts.
Here is the screenshot of what I mean: https://www.screencast.com/t/2VvdLfTu
Don't know how/if it's possible to write a personal message on this forums to members so I have decided to write here although it's off topic here. You can follow the above referenced thread if interested. If you find a solution before me, please let me know 😉
July 4, 2020 at 1:37 pm in reply to: Removing 'photo credit line' from post snippet in categories of MagazinePro #499954EugeneHunt
ParticipantAnita,
Thank you for the link. I have commented on that thread about my issue. I use the latest version of WordPress 5.4.2 and MagazinePro. People there say that this issue cannot be replicated with the latest software but it's obviously not the case. Will see if they have something to suggest.
I know another website https://www.moviedebuts.com/category/movies which has the same problem. It belongs to another forum member who helped me in another thread; I visit this website for reference on organizing MagazinePro-based blog and just saw that it has the same issues.

ParticipantAnita,
Thank you for explaining, that makes perfect sense to me. Will try to check if I can fix it with my hosting provider.
You've been a great help. Thank you!

ParticipantHi Alice,
Thank you for the tip. When I try to include the code with "[ php ] [ /php ]" (added spaces so that the text is shown here) I get this (screenshot): https://www.screencast.com/t/zwkm4MBt
I have tried to include the code without "[ php ] [ /php ]" and got the same 'Scrape nonce check failed' (screen): https://www.screencast.com/t/meoo4BSf
I am clearing the cache before editing the code. After I paste it in function.php, I can't empty the cache since I need to update the file before accessing any buttons or the changes are lost.
After spending some 1-2 hours yesterday and spending your time on this, I think I can live with 'You are here' phrase in breadcrumbs if there is no short solution. Thank you anyway.

ParticipantI got a post from Sendinblue saying that they don't have a direct integration with Genesis eNews so the recommend using WordPress directly to integrate the Subscribe form. Since I want to keep Genesis eNEws widget in my MagazinePro theme, this is not an option for me right now.
So I have to skip Sendinblue for now although they have good offer otherwise. Will give a try with Mailerlite as they also have a free package for a start and I saw mentioning several guides as to Mailerlite and Genesis eNews integration, here is one of them (clickable link)

ParticipantP.S. I can copy the HTML code here for you guys to see if that could work if someone can help with this.

ParticipantAnita,
Thank you so much for this. I will try checking this also within today-tomorrow and will describe the results here. Will be able to close the thread after that.

ParticipantThank you for this but although I have even wrote some CSS code myself learning the basics, I am afraid it’s a little beyond my capabilities to get it right. My coding skills are around basic so I need some simple instructions and ready plugins. I am in Europe for the moment so I will give plugins a try tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, will be thankful for any other tips from those who did it with MagazinePro.
