When you get the embed code from YouTube you can customize the dimensions you want. Yours is set at 500px wide.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantTry this change in .site-header. Do not use background-image, just background otherwise no-repeat will not work.
background: url(http://www.newautism.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/new_autism_header_small.png) no-repeat !important;
This will fix your responsive problem but in any case your header is not clickable.
Ideally you should have just used the logo and put the text in the h1 tag.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantThe #header .wrap is only 490px wide and is centered, so your title area which is sitting above the menu is pushing it down. If you widen the wrap and make the #header .widget-area around 45% instead of 70% your menu will shoot to the top. You will then have to make some other modifications to get things to sit right.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantYes, the nav ul li:nth-child(1) a selector would work. However if you don't understand it try putting custom classes on your first and last links in your navigation menu. If the option is not there, go to Screen Options and check CSS classes. Then you can style accordingly.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantIf you know nothing about CSS then I would suggest you change themes. Making a fixed width site responsive would require quite a lot of changes.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantYou could use custom css classes for your navigation or nth-child to style each of your links individually.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantHTML5 does not make a site responsive, the viewport meta tag and media queries do that. However, most of the new themes being offered on the Genesis framework, which are HTML5, are also built to be responsive.
It really depends on your target clientele, phone users want quick access to information that they can scroll through and read easily. Desktop and even tablet users might like a more visually enhanced experience. So your choice of one responsive site or a separate mobile solution really depends on what the end user needs to get from your site. I certainly would never view real estate on a phone, on a tablet perhaps, but then I'm not 20 years old with 20/20 vision.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantYou can also resize your browser window to see where elements break and adjustments need to be made. Chrome also gives you the pixel measurement of the browser window as you resize it.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantIn a web inspector your header image shows a broken link, this is the full link to your image http://ccb.keystoneinternetsolutions.com.au/wp-content/themes/executive/images/header.png
So there are several possibilities
1- You forgot to upload it
2- You uploaded to the wrong folder
3- The filename may contain an error e.g. png instead of jpg

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantNo it's CSS3. http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/sel_nth-child.asp - It's a rather complicated syntax, but you could possibly target your menu item by using a custom class. If you do not see the option on your menu item, go to Screen Options and check CSS Classes then add the class you want to target to your menu item.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantI always bypass the Appearance panel and do it directly in the css, more control that way. You can make 2 separate images for the header area, one of them will be in the title area, the other can be a background image in the header or use a second text widget in the header. You will have to adjust the width of the title area which is too large at the moment.
