Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantI would not mess around with the Editor as a newbie. I believe the Genesis Extender plugin can do this for the non-coder.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantIn functions file change the width
//* Add support for custom header add_theme_support( 'custom-header', array( 'width' => 320, 'height' => 65, 'header-selector' => '.site-header .title-area', 'header-text' => false ) );
Then in the css file change the width for .title-area

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantI am not sure what you are trying to achieve? The Prose theme doesn't have a background shadow.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantThere are a lot of elements that will need to be modified if you want to change the width of your theme. You will need to go through your site with a web inspector to find the tags which need to be changed. I am not familiar with that theme but you might also have to change the width in the functions file.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantThanks for your reply and I am aware of the size restrictions in the functions file. That is not the problem as the png was sized to the exact dimensions recommended. It looked over compressed and the print was fuzzy when uploaded through the custom header. Using it through the css gives me a perfect image. I was just wondering if WordPress compresses when using the uploader like this. It's terrible for logos, they need to be crisp and clear.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantIf you update to the new Agency Pro theme you are in for a big surprise, because it is nothing like the old Agency theme. In fact you do not have to update your theme at all if it satisfies your needs. However, you must regularly update your plugins, WordPress version and Genesis framework.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantLook in your css file for this
iframe, .entry-content img { background-color: #fff; border: 4px solid #ddd !important; box-sizing: border-box; padding: 1px; }
that is where your border is coming from. So if you do not want the border to disappear from the entry-content img's you will have to write a separate rule for iframe without the border. In other words, duplicate the whole piece of code, remove iframe, from the first one, .entry-content img from the second one and then remove the border: 4px solid #ddd !important; from the second one too.

Lynne emasai.comNovember 14, 2013 at 8:53 pm in reply to: Do I edit a purchased child theme's files, or edit a child of that child theme? #73063emasaiParticipantAs Andrea likes to explain it, a child theme is like the skin on a face with whatever fancy css make up you care to apply. The bone structure of the face is the Genesis framework. There is no need to update a child theme if you are happy with your site, just because Studiopress brought out a newer version, which sometimes has very little relation to the original. What does need updating, when available, is the Genesis framework version and the WordPress structure i.e. the bones, skeleton on which the skin and make up are applied.
When making a lot of css and function file modifications I often keep a copy of the original or latest working version of my changes, so that if I forget a ; } or a closing div, I can always go back to the last working version. Learned from the experience of seeing my whole site fall apart because I forgot a curly bracket somewhere in all the changes I made.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantDid you add something, there is an inline style of display: none to the ul class sub-menu which prevents the dropdown menu from showing.

Lynne emasai.comNovember 14, 2013 at 8:26 pm in reply to: Executive Pro header change and responsive padding issue #73052emasaiParticipantLine 2065 in your css file states min-height: 200px but none of your media queries give a min-height so .header-image .site-title a picks up the original size. You just need to write a css rule into your various media queries of min-height of a smaller size. The code is simple min-height: 120px; you will need to visually figure out what size works best at what width. Does that explain it better?
