You need to identify where those huge margins are coming from. Some of them affect other elements so you might need to write a new rule to modify that particular element.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantIn site-header change float: left to margin-left: 620px
Then in site-inner, change the float to left.In the media queries you will have to remove the margin-left.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantThe site header widget area is set at a wider width than on a full screen in the media queries on line 1640,
@media only screen and (max-width: 1179px)
.site-header .widget-area {
width: 620px;Change it back to 200px and it should work.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantYou don't download them, you need to learn how to write to the functions file to add widgets. I think Brad has a tutorial on this http://wpsites.net/web-design/add-home-page-widgets/

#black-studio-tinymce-2 .textwidget {
margin-left: 200px;
margin-right: 200px;}So in the media rules where you see it gets too skinny you write a new rule for it. In the wider media rules you could make the margins 100px or 50px.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantIt probably does update, but the color changes are only in the hover states if I remember rightly. I just went through this with a client who was expecting major color changes too.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantYour English is fine, but you are showing us the demo page. To find out what your particular problem might be, we need to see your site. Those 3 boxes are widgets that pull in featured posts or featured pages, or whatever you care to add to them.

E.G.
#black-studio-tinymce-2 .textwidget {
margin-left: 20px;
margin-right: 20px;}I just found the one above, but there may be others with different numbers.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantFor one thing your site is hidden, so it's difficult to see what is going on. Did you upload the style sheet?

Lynne emasai.comMarch 3, 2014 at 9:28 am in reply to: Help Please – Need to Identify Background Area to Change Colour #93205emasaiParticipantTake a look at your site on a mobile device. Your text becomes very narrow because you have huge left and right margins.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantOn line 1418 you have a negative top margin which pushes the column up
.green2 {
margin-top: -55px;
}

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantAlthough I love Genesis, I do not like their Responsive Slider. My suggestion is get Soliloquy, much easier to handle and to customize, it's also responsive.

Lynne emasai.comemasaiParticipantIt depends whether you want a header image that fills the whole browser window or one that just fits in the space assigned to the header. Please read my post again it answers your question. There are two different css tags for header and header .wrap.
Do you have a web inspector? If you do, you can see exactly which tag does what. The logo is another animal which sits inside the header .wrap which sits inside the header. Like layers, the last one you add is always on top.
