Membernutsandbolts I was curious if you could further help me with this.
I did all of the above... however because I am using a static page (not the setting for "your latest posts" as the Decor Theme uses)... my widget area is not showing up.
I went to the Static Welcome Page and tried to select the Home as the default template, but it's not in the list. What can I do to get the Slider Widget to show up while using a static page as my home page?

MemberThanks so much. This helps and it looks marvelous!

MemberOMG... thank you so very much. Pulling my hair out as I was using ".parallax-home" instead of just ".home"
Wow... such a simple thing I should have come up with that.
Everything looks great now. Thanks again!
Looking to get 3-4 footer widgets across the bottom now. Let's see how I do with this!

MemberHi ebeard... did you get an answer for this? I am trying to do the same thing. I have a Logo image on all background pages, but do not want it to display on the Home page.
Very frustrating trying to find the right avenue for the CSS code.
I would give the URL however there is a Coming Soon placeholder page in place and only Admins can see the site.
I want the background header image to show but NOT the Logo image.
Anyone???
Can give Admin Access if needed.

MemberIts funny you mention that one... as I came across it earlier and was quite impressed with it's capabilities and features. Do you find it easy to work with?

MemberSorry to say... regenerating the thumbnails and addition of the code to the functions.php file did NOT help.
dmdwebdesigns
MemberOkay... this time images were added during the import. I am running the Regen. Thumbnails plugin again and this time it worked.
Have a feeling after this is done, that the featured images will now show up as long as I have the code in the Functions.php
I will keep you posted.

MemberI think I know what the issue is... I imported these posts and the images are NOT being put into the typical image folders. So there are no thumbnails and even if I use the regenerate thumbnails plugin, it does not find any uploaded images so it does note regenerate anything.
When I import, if I check off the box for download file attachments, it bogs out and sends to be a "page not found". If I import without that option, everything works but the images are not added to the media library.
So how do I get these images into the Media Library?
Need to figure this out...

MemberHi Nuts and Bolts... sorry this did not work for me either. I tried both sets of code. I cannot post a link as I have a Coming Soon plugin so you will not be able to see the website or the category page I am referring to.
Any other possible suggestions?

MemberIs that a plugin? I don't see these options or settings in the Theme or Widgets area. I am using the Lifestyle Theme.

MemberWhat is the URL for the website?
And yes, you are correct, you don't need to establish a static page for blogs since you are using the general settings for the home page "Your Latest Blog Posts".
In fact, after testing, it seems that using a static page causes the error as well, which is what I was doing in the first place.
Yes it will remove any features added in the theme, like the slider and what not. StudioPress is still somewhat new to me as I recently was moved here by Catalyst and had very custom home pages with lots of widgets.
StudioPress needs to make their "Blog Page Template" function properly. The post navigation should work on static pages using this template.
You might consider using a Hook Box for the slider... this could be placed right above the content section.

MemberHope this does not sound silly... have you tried clearing your Cache files. You will need to do it from Control Panel to be sure you delete all files.

Memberokay... what resolved it so that it now works... in the General Settings - Reading section, instead of using a Static Page (front page = "blog")... I selected the setting, "Your Latest Posts".
Now even though technically the other should have worked as I had the BLOG page set to use the BLOG template, it still did not provide the correct navigation.
I think this is something that StudioPress needs to look into as this is a WP function that is quite common... having a static page as your Blog/Home Page.

MemberI don't think you messed anything up... I, too am having the same issue with the Lifestyle theme. Some help would be greatly appreciated for both of us!
Thanks in advance...
