MemberHi all,
Just noticed that the Previous/Next Page navigation on blog pages is not working.
I used Eleven40 on a number of sites, and just now noticed.
I created a page using the blog template and set that as my home page (like it better than the default). At the bottom, there is a next page button referring to http://www.giantpt.com/page/2, which it does not find so it shows the same page again.
I am using category pages to show the blog posts in the various categories (e.g. http://www.giantpt.com/training) and there the next page button refers to http://www.giantpt.com/training/page/2, and here a 404 page comes up. And yes, there are many more articles in that category.
Tried numeric navigation as well, but to no avail.
Turned off all plugins, still same problem.
Did I mess up some setting or so? How can I get this to work?
Thanks in advance!
Robin

MemberI don't think you messed anything up... I, too am having the same issue with the Lifestyle theme. Some help would be greatly appreciated for both of us!
Thanks in advance...

MemberActually I just tested your website and it is working... did you find the answer?

Memberokay... what resolved it so that it now works... in the General Settings - Reading section, instead of using a Static Page (front page = "blog")... I selected the setting, "Your Latest Posts".
Now even though technically the other should have worked as I had the BLOG page set to use the BLOG template, it still did not provide the correct navigation.
I think this is something that StudioPress needs to look into as this is a WP function that is quite common... having a static page as your Blog/Home Page.

MemberHi Deirdre,
Sorry for the late response.
No,l I did not find a good answer for the problem as described. It seems to be a WP problem, not a StudioPress problem.
What I did was show my latest 10 posts on my homepage, selecting your latests posts in General Settings – Reading. I changed the home.php file to not show a featured article, just excerpts. Looks better.
When you do not assign a page for your blog posts in WP, somehow it can give you problems. Now it works and I leave it at that.
Hope you can find a solution as well!
Regards,
Robin

ParticipantI've actually got it showing the "your latest posts" and the previous/next links aren't showing at the bottom of the home page, either. Any other suggestions?

MemberHope this does not sound silly... have you tried clearing your Cache files. You will need to do it from Control Panel to be sure you delete all files.

ParticipantIt's actually not a blog page, since the whole site is a blog showing the most recent posts, didn't see any point in setting up a blog page. Guess I could try that and see if it works?

ParticipantHmm...well, that worked on the home page. Still missing navigation links on the individual posts, but it's an improvement. Any hints for that?
But, boo..that gets rid of the featured slider. Wonder if I can see if I can get that on the blog page?

MemberWhat is the URL for the website?
And yes, you are correct, you don't need to establish a static page for blogs since you are using the general settings for the home page "Your Latest Blog Posts".
In fact, after testing, it seems that using a static page causes the error as well, which is what I was doing in the first place.
Yes it will remove any features added in the theme, like the slider and what not. StudioPress is still somewhat new to me as I recently was moved here by Catalyst and had very custom home pages with lots of widgets.
StudioPress needs to make their "Blog Page Template" function properly. The post navigation should work on static pages using this template.
You might consider using a Hook Box for the slider... this could be placed right above the content section.

ParticipantTurns out, with Lifestyle, since you use widgets, you have to use Genesis Featured Amplified widget with pagination turned on and it works.
But, the hook would work, too.

MemberIs that a plugin? I don't see these options or settings in the Theme or Widgets area. I am using the Lifestyle Theme.

ParticipantYes, it is a plugin. It replaces the basic genesis featured post.
You can find it here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-featured-widget-amplified/
