thanks for the comprehensive reply Victor.
I'm using Cloudflare and the hosting is Cloudways. Lots of space and a pretty decent high-frequency Vultur server. None of the other sites (5-6) on this server are experiencing this problem.
Cloudways support reckon it's a theme issue because the logs are throwing PHP errors which seem to be related the theme.
Example:
Got error 'PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function add_filter() in public_html/wp-content/themes/aspire-pro/lib/theme-defaults.php:4\nStack trace:\n#0 {main}\n thrown in public_html/wp-content/themes/aspire-pro/lib/theme-defaults.php on line 4'

The WP debug doesn't show much apart from issues with enqueuing scripts. Nothing serious.

I've gotten no response from ZigZagPress on my queries also. Seems your on your own with this theme. Disappointed in StudioPress for the quality control here.

Thanks for the reply.
I keep WP and Genesis up to date as much as possible. This site is running the latest of both and the problem is still happening, although not in the last day or two.
It's a weird one, very hard to replicate.
