Thanks for the code Snippet! This "fixed" it for me 😉

My issue was with a concurrent slider plugin (WP LayerSLider) that appears to be contesting for a jQuery callback\timer on refreshing the page? Not 100% certain other than :

• Removing the slider == working Altitude Theme,
• Adding Slider == grey gradient, no images for FrontPage3 and FrontPage5 (however it worked perfectly in IE *shudder*)

The only piece of the CSS that I needed to override in my local css files was the

.front-page-2,
.front-page-3,
.front-page-4,
.front-page-5,
.front-page-6,
.front-page-7 {
     position: static;
}
