So if a new version of the child theme NewsPro comes out, will you lose settings or info when updating NewsPro?

Right now I just have a text place holder in the center with text, which is an option in the NEWS theme.

I need to figure out putting my logo in the middle of the header, where the text is currently. Anyone know how to achieve this? Thanks!
