Okay I think I got that fixed and so glad you pointed this out to me because of the !important being used on the widths... didn't even think of the fact it would cascade onto the Responsive section.

So thanks again, really appreciate it!!

I made the adjustment and have a further question about that... as I reduce the window size... it looks good, and then changes where there is a big blank area in the middle still, and then as I keep reducing the window size further it goes back together again and then it stacks like it should when the window is real small in width.

Why the blank area in the middle or should I worry about it?

    Thanks!!

Wow thank you! I will try this out!

How did you know that I should adjust the width though in the @media section of 1023 px? I'm confused by what adjustments I have to always make in the @media sections if I adjust the top section.

    Thanks much!

    Thanks for explaining.

Now I loaded that Google Fonts Typography plugin and see how to set the font styles to let us say, the "body" tag. And did that. However I need to be able to set the font for a gallery and the titles within the gallery. So that part needs to be done through the style sheet with @import. Can you please explain where I define this and exactly what I define in the styles sheet for the @import of the "Open Sans" font that is of normal type?

    Thanks!

Thanks for writing! I did add the #. But no idea how to style that one me u item to turn off the hyper linking functionality. For just that menu item. Okay maybe I turn off a:hover. That right? Thinking about it more now.

    Thanks!!

I wonder if you can add a description for each image that the user sees after they have clicked on an image for it to expand?

    Thanks!

I really don't want the link to get out into the search engine, thus why I posted Tiny URL. I'm a long time poster/member... trust me its not spam or anything to worry about.

    Thanks!

So I should explain further in that this is a Subsite and so I assume it would be okay to make the change to the functions.php file that controls all the subsites <Gulp!>... right?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello Susan!

Wanted to get back to you because its all fixed up...well 99%.  Just need to add a little padding for 2 devices.  I had transposed some characters... like the /* and */ and used the wrong bracket at one point.  So happy its fixed and it took a while to realize that part of the code was being ignored.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

So thankful let me tell you.... much better now testing it out here.  I just have one last question.... what is the best way to get some padding inside the white featured sections on the Iphone?  Right now the words are running into the sides.

    Thanks!!!

    Hello Susan,

Just Bookmarked that website and then tested the site....now I see what is going on... how it has a skinny little column of the widgets that are shoved to the left on this test site.  However... on my Iphone it looks correct.  Well I will see then what the client is talking about to see if it matches what I'm seeing on that site you gave me.  That is interesting.  Maybe if I fix it in this test environment it will just stay how it is on the Iphone.

    Thank you!

Hi Susan!  It is indeed possible that I may have changed some widths on some things.... but no memory of exactly what.  Ha!  Let me look at Brian Gardner's article...thank you for sharing that!

Strange okay I'm not sure how anyone gets the displays right without owning the devices!   It looks fine on my iPhone.  Going to look at this tool.  What would you do????

Thanks Susan for writing and I will try out that tool.   You had mentioned things were pushed off to the right.  Was this on a real device and maybe it was on the tool.  I'm seeing it fine on my iPhone.   And laptop and Desktop.   Browser was Chrome?   I was using Firefox on larger displays.   Chrome the best?   For accuracy and true look?   Thx!!!

The easiest way I've found since this post is to use Nick's plugin for responsive header...where you upload different headers depending on the device!  Let me know if you can't find that plugin....it wasn't at wordpress.org.  I did a google search for it.  Its Nick the Geek and its on his website.

    Thanks,

    CK
