I figured it out. For anyone else who tries to modify their news theme, when changing the widths of the sidebars and content area, you will have to add the following css property to the images/inner-ssc.png in order to get the gray content spacers to adjust properly, obviously adjusting the pixel width to your needs:
background-position: 40px;
buddy_boy8403ParticipantSusan - do you have any ideas on this?
buddy_boy8403ParticipantNo problem. Thanks for trying. Hopefully NickTheGeek or someone can provide some guidance.
buddy_boy8403ParticipantHow can I get them to move 40px to the right?
buddy_boy8403ParticipantI have all of the widths set the way that I want, but how to do I get the gray seperators on the right and left side of the content to shift to the right 40px? I can't find a CSS setting that moves these. They appear to be static.

I increased the widths on several items from 960 to 1050 and also increased the primary sidebar width 50px, but when you go to the site, you can see the gray content breaks don't line up... and when you click into an actual post, it's worse yet. I should also not I want to increase the secondary sidebar by 40px as well.
buddy_boy8403Participantdev454 - This is exactly what I'm looking for. The only problem is it's counting 2 page views for each 1 visit.
buddy_boy8403ParticipantAnitac - Yes - I tried this in the function.php file an youtube videos are still being resized small. I also did research and found that it could be related to the 'shortcode' functionality of jetpak so I disabled that component and it still didn't work. I've tried using the embed code with a custom size that I know will fit (410px wide), I've tried just copying the youtube page URL like you mentioned above, and I've tried using the jetpak shortcode for youtube embeds (when I had that component enabled) and they still resize small.
buddy_boy8403ParticipantI looked at it, but how would I get it in the byline via the functions.php without modifying core code?
buddy_boy8403Participant@anitac - I've tried the suggestions in the linked article - it didn't do the trick. Any other suggestions?
buddy_boy8403ParticipantHow do you want it to be styled? The plugin adds it's own styling. You can add the styling elements from your plugin's style file (wp-content/plugins/dsidxpress/css/client.css?ver=3.5.1) to your child theme's style.css file to get the styling of the plugin to accept the styling of the original agentpress search form.
buddy_boy8403ParticipantBump
buddy_boy8403ParticipantThe easiest solution is to use the Genesis Simple Edits plugin which allows you to easily edit the 'byline' which is what that part is called.
buddy_boy8403Participantsmush.it rarely works for me. I choose to use the google page speed add-on for fire bug. When you run the page speed, it suggests which images can be optimized, and even provides a download of the optimized image. Then all you have to do is save the optimized image, upload it and replace the original and wala - images are optimized. Another cool thing you can do to easily combine images into sprites is use something called SpriteMe. You add it to your bookmarks and then whatever page you want images combined into sprite's, you just go to your bookmarks, run the tool and creates the css and sprite images for you. Then for an added bonus, run the sprite image through page speed's image optimization, download the optimized sprite and you will save a lot of bandwidth and increase your page speeds quite a bit.
Hope that helps!
buddy_boy8403ParticipantAnitac - Thanks for the tip. I've been trying that and found that it does work if I do not have any images on the page. However, I like to start each post with a 300px wide left aligned image. It seems that the as soon as the image is added, it for some reason resizes the YouTube video's making them smaller, even though the embed code has a larger width. This even happens why trying your suggestion above when an image is present. Any additional help you (or anyone (cough - Nick The Geek)) can provide would be great. I feel like I've been replying to a lot of peoples threads trying to lessen the load of the moderators, so hopefully the love will be paid back.
buddy_boy8403ParticipantWhat is the url to your site?
January 20, 2013 at 12:37 am in reply to: Custom Template – How do I include Header, Sidebar, Footer? #13243buddy_boy8403ParticipantThere are a lot of Google search results that give you tutorials on setting up specific types of custom pages:

buddy_boy8403ParticipantYou don't need to modify the functions.php file to include google analytics code. Instead, go to wp-admin > Genesis > Scroll to the very bottom and paste your analytics code into the second box from the bottom to have it output in the wp_head() section.
That's all - your analytics will be set up.
buddy_boy8403ParticipantSoZo's solution is the correct answer. Are you sure you tried his solution properly? What steps did you take? You don't need any plugins to do this.
buddy_boy8403ParticipantWhat is your site's URL? And which image in your site are you wanting a border around?
