Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipant
.home is the class selector
#footer-widgets is the i.d selectorHere's the new rule to hide your footer widgets using CSS
.home #footer-widgets { display: none; }
Add it to the end of your child themes style.css file
Display:none is your declaration which consists of a property and value
display is the property
none is the valueFurther learning

2. http://www.htmldog.com/guides/cssintermediate/classid/You can also use PHP code to remove footer widgets on specific pages using conditional tags example: is_home()
Another option is to install the Widget Logic plugin and add a conditional tag to each footer widget.
Example: !is_home() which will hide the widgets from displaying on the home page only

February 23, 2013 at 7:25 am in reply to: Minimum: How to turn off title text without moving nav menu? #22386Brad DaltonParticipantShould work because the code comes from the Developers site.
Do you have any other code on the file which may conflict? Can't see the top of the functions.php file.
What theme are you using?
You could add something like this to your child themes style.css file:
#title a, #title a:hover { display: none; }
I added this in Firebug as a new rule and it works but not sure which theme you're using so i used the Corporate theme.
February 23, 2013 at 6:52 am in reply to: Hide a sidebar on single posts in a specific category #22380Brad DaltonParticipantChange the custom sidebars on each single post edit screen manually to any custom sidebar you want using the Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin.
You can also use conditional tags in the Widget Logic plugin to display specific widgets in a custom sidebar based on conditions.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-logic/Did this help?
Brad DaltonParticipantCan you link to your site please.
You can add the image using PHP or CSS.
The PHP depends on the hook location and includes a conditional tag.
You can also add a widget or HTML/Text area and include the conditional tag in the function or use the Widget Logic plugin.
Brad DaltonParticipantHere's 2 good tutorials on this subject:

This moves the Primary nav menu from after your header to before your header,
// Reposition the primary navigation menu remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); // Reposition the secondary navigation menu remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' ); add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' );
This moves the secondary nav menu from after your header to before your header

Paste the appropriate code at the end of your child themes functions.php file.
Brad DaltonParticipantThis will hide the home-middle widgets from displaying.
#home-middle { display: none; }
Maybe you have some custom coding for home-bottom as i couldn't see it on the functions.php or widgets page.
You could trying something like this:
#home-bottom { display: none; }
As long as the selector is the same as #home-bottom which you can inspect using the Firebug addon.
Brad DaltonParticipantAdd them as featured images on the pages and posts you want to include in the slider and follow the setup instructions for that theme.
February 22, 2013 at 2:42 pm in reply to: How to change catogery titles color on homepage(Magazine)? #22283Brad DaltonParticipant.home-bottom h4, .home-middle h4, .home-top h4 { color: #E88E05; }
Add this to the end of your child themes style.css file.
Brad DaltonParticipantThis is what i get in Firebug:
img.centered, .aligncenter { border: 1px solid #DDDDDD; display: block; margin: 0 auto 10px; padding: 4px; }
But the 1px grey border has a line through it.
Did you resolve this?
Brad DaltonParticipantI think i have worked it out using CSS.
.page-template-default .entry-title { display:none; }
Brad DaltonParticipantNot sure of the conditional statements to use. The guys on the WordPress Codex aren't either. Been a hard a few weeks mentally with all the coding. Hopefully i can work it out for you soon.
The function works so its just a matter of working out which tags to use in the function.
Brad DaltonParticipanthttp://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-featured-widget-amplified/
Try this plugin. I think it has a feature to include/exclude by post i.d
Brad DaltonParticipantGo to Pages > Add new page > select the blog page template from the drop down under Page Attributes > Templates and publish it.
Go to Settings > Reading and select it from the drop down as your posts page.
You'll also need to select a Static page under Front page displays
Then you can go to Appearance > Menus and add it to any of your menus
Brad DaltonParticipantAdd a widget area using the tutorial below and change the conditional tag and hook so it only works on the blog archive page in the hook location you want.
is_page('blog')
http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar
Brad DaltonParticipantReduce the height of the header in your child themes functions.php file
// Add support for custom header add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 1152, 'height' => 120 ) );
Make the same height in your Header style.css file under the Header section
Crop the bottom of your header image if needed.
You could also change the padding-bottom properties value using pixels i.e 10px for the widget in your child themes style.css file:
#header { border-bottom: 2px solid #1E1E1E; min-height: 60px; overflow: hidden; padding-bottom: 2rem; }
Brad DaltonParticipantUse custom body class in the layout settings.
You can also install the Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin and display a unique sidebar on a specific page or post.
You could also install the Widget CSS classes plugin and target specific widgets for styling.
On top of this, you can install the Widget Logic plugin to display the widget using conditional tags.
Brad DaltonParticipantadd_action('get_footer', 'child_remove_genesis_do_footer'); function child_remove_genesis_do_footer() { if (is_home()) { remove_action('genesis_footer', 'genesis_do_footer'); remove_action('genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_open', 5); remove_action('genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_close', 15); } }
Add this to your child themes functions.php file
Brad DaltonParticipantAdd the widget area so its available sitewide (without the conditional tag in the code) and then add the conditional tag for each page using the Widget Logic field in the responsive slider.
You'll need to install the Widget Logic plugin and understand which conditional tag to use. http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags
Example:
is_page('4')
Adding this tag to the widget logic field in your GRSlider will only display the slider on a page with a post i.d of 4
ref: http://www.briangardner.com/welcome-text-widget/
This is one way to get the job done. There are others which reqiure custom functions and code modifying.
