Support got back to me. Apparently, one needs to add a text widget to Header Right, without it the header is not full sized.

I was having a similar problem.

Don't understand the "div+rectangular square thing" above, but I just added "&nbsp;" below my last column</div> and it's working, though I spent a few hours trying to figure this out.

Yeah, struggling with the same issue. Any solution here?

Looks like I could add this to the stylesheet:

.home #inner {
display: none;
}

but this pretty much limits my ability to add anything else there, right?

I did indeed remove the standard loop part, along with everything else in the above code.  Ideally, I'd like to replace the grid/loop section down there with a widget area. But will aim for removing the posts for now.

I had the same question. Removed the above code and it took care of the loop feature, however I still have posts appearing.
