Hi,
When I run a Google page speed analysis, it is showing the below error. What may be the cause? I am getting it after moving to Genesis+Eleven 40.
"Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content.Your page has 6 blocking script resources and 2 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML."

February 20, 2014 at 11:28 am #91431jdehaan001MemberWell, I just signed into the forum for the first time, looking for a solution to the same problem. I just purchased and installed eleven40 Theme and made a whole bunch of design changes to my site. To improve the site, I checked it in PageSpeed am getting the same error messages.
I've researched ways to fix this, but am still uncertain, because some suggestions conflict with others, and I'm not well rehearsed with making these kinds of coding changes, though I could if someone spelled it out step-by-step.
I really think that StudioPress should help us out here by either coding it directly into the Genesis Framework, or showing us how to defer the loading of jQuery in our themes. This is a serious issue that affects page rank.
I'm not sure how to figure out what on my site needs to use the jQuery library, but I think it might be the navigation menu. If that's the case, because the nav menu is above the fold, can jQuery even be deferred without adversely effecting it?
February 21, 2014 at 10:27 am #91666jdehaan001MemberHey Guys, I'm sure many of you may have already found a work around for the Render Blocking issues, as it's been two or three months since you made your posts here, but just in case someone with the same issues finds our thread here, I wanted to add what I've discovered.
Although some coding experts have written about the issue, the complex solution(s) were either not discussed in enough detail for me to understand, or there were conflicting resolutions. I finally found this link, which takes you step-by-step through implementing a resolution with a WP plugin, 'W3 Total Cache'. I had hoped to find a non-plugin solution, but was unable to. I also have a couple html sites, where a non-plugin solution would really help me. Here's the url to the excellent resource: http://www.starrguide.com/eliminate-render-blocking-javascript-css/ Eliminate Render-Blocking JavaScript and CSS in WordPress. Follow it carefully, and Good Luck!
June 27, 2014 at 9:30 am #111771adrienmontaMemberHi, I am a user of wpengine to host my website. They disallow all plugins such as W3 Total Cache.
Right now I just installed Eleven 40 pro and the original theme creates some render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content.
Why Studiopress is not helping us there since they offer googlefonts or a responsive menu in java by default on Eleven 40 pro for instance?
Aren't these java used by the original theme itself?? If yes, then the author must help us to Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content or code it within the original theme.
This would be really helpful. I have been struggling with this issue for months.
