Hi Victor,
Thanks once again for your response and the resource link. What was confusing me was the logic behind how to set this up. And whether to set up PAGES vs POSTS. So we open a new blank PAGE and then use the blog template. Then for future blog posts we open a new blank POST and then link it to the PAGE we created with the blog template on it by using the categories (on the right side of the screen). Is that correct?
Thanks,
Aliceawilliams529MemberHi Victor,
Still not knowing the answer to my above questions, I took a chance and followed the rest of your instructions from the section entitled "filtering your posts" on and did these instructions on my page titled news - posts page. But it didn't work.
1) What did I do wrong?
2) Can you help me with my questions above so I can better understand how to manage the blogs on my website.
Thank so much,

awilliams529MemberHi Victor,
Thanks so much for this info. Since I am so new to wordpress I followed you up until the section entitled filtering your posts where you assume that we know how to set up a blog page (that is a no in my case). So I need some more help.I am just starting to use the blog feature of the altitude child theme. It came with a PAGE called news - post page.
1) I am not sure if I need to set up a new PAGE for every new blog entry I write or if I need to set up a new POST for every new blog entry that I write and then put it under the parent news page.
2) Do I need to create a new PAGE to follow your directions under the filtering your posts section or do I apply these directions to the PAGE that came with the theme I have labeled news - post page.
Thanks,

1) What do you mean by my theme's function.php file..........where is that?
2) If I use the Genesis Simple Edits plugin to make the changes do I need to keep the plugin installed after the changes are made?
