They took the background image and re-colored it using a graphics program like Photoshop or Paint. The image is in your folders.

AnitaKeymaster@sondra, you may run into some issues because you are not using the Genesis Framework with that and you may find it's more trouble trying to hack it than to start over. I personally think you would really benefit to re-develop their website with the new Lifestyle theme. Install a fresh copy of WP in another folder, email support for the Genesis Framework and new Lifestyle theme, install them and go from there. Export their content from the current site, import to the new site and go from there. If you need some help, let me know. I'll be glad to help you.

AnitaKeymasterPost your URL each time you post a new inquiry. When I see it, I can go take a look.

AnitaKeymasterFor WP-Cycle, you must go to Media > WP-Cycle and then manually insert images. Did you do that?
Home Top Right Widget - you need to select "Show Content" or Excerpt.
For the menus, go to Appearance > Menus - make sure you have selected or deselected the appropriate menus in the Primary & Secondary.

AnitaKeymasterLook for this in your Style.css file, change the color to the color code of your choice.
.home-middle .featuredpage p, .home-middle .featuredpost p {
color: #FFFFFF;
margin: 0 0 10px;
padding: 10px;
}

AnitaKeymasterGo to the Categories - and Hover over them and look at the bottom left or right corners of your screen. That's the one pet peeve I have with WP is that they don't show the actual category, page or post ID numbers automatically.

AnitaKeymasterI don't have Adorable so I cannot look at the files. For the "Join the Conversation" - open up your Functions.php file and see if you see anything titled that - if so, change it there. If you don't - maybe add this to the bottom of the file changing "Leave a Comment" to whatever you want. See if that works.
/** Modify the speak your mind text */ add_filter( 'genesis_comment_form_args', 'custom_comment_form_args' ); function custom_comment_form_args($args) { $args['title_reply'] = 'Leave a Comment'; return $args; }
As for the email address, yes - that's correct.

AnitaKeymasterYou have to make sure when you copy and paste that all of the quotes (") and the apostrophes (') and the correct ones. Use Notepad or Notepad++ and just go through there and make sure they are correct.

AnitaKeymasterThat is why I suggested using the Database Optimizer. It will go in there and clean out a lot of stuff you don't need and will "refresh" the database so it's pulling the information properly.

AnitaKeymasterLook for this in Style.css: - the margins need to be changed.
.alignright {
float: right;
margin: 0 0 15px 15px;
}replace this with this:
.alignright {
float: right;
margin: 0 2px 10px;
}

February 6, 2013 at 7:09 am in reply to: Working with a static home page with the Minimum Child Theme #18418AnitaKeymasterI am confused by what you want. What areas of the current Home.php file don't you like? If you want to modify or create a custom home page, use your FTP file manager and go to your theme folder. Make a copy of the current home.php file then re-name the current one to "home-old". Then you can use new file and cut out what parts of it you don't want and add in what you do want.

AnitaKeymasterThank you David! I know exactly what to do with it and will be trying it out on the demo site I use to play with code. I knew there would another way to do what I wrote! I always wondered what those number were for and now I know. Thanks again.

AnitaKeymasterYou did go back and remove those two lines right? Make sure you remove those. If you aren't married to the share buttons being at the bottom - remove that one line of code and place it in the genesis_before_post_content and they will appear at the top under the Title & Meta.
