AnitaKeymasterThe menu items is ID 163. So add this to you style.css. Change the background color to the color you want.
#menu-item-163 { background-color: #cc9900; }

May 1, 2013 at 5:41 am in reply to: Genesis Simple Edits plugin badly affects Blog page design #38723AnitaKeymasterUnfortunately, when I go to your blog page - I am not seeing the same thing as your images. There isn't a title or any meta data present other than Leave a Comment.

AnitaKeymasterThey seem to be working for me. Are you still having difficulty?

AnitaKeymasterAt first thought your two tracking codes could be conflicting and interfering with each other. Although I am not experienced with either of the products you use, I do use tracking and I only have one of them active.

AnitaKeymasterWhat areas do you have content in? Do you have something in the all three widget areas.

AnitaKeymaster@Tonje, that's not something to worry about. The search engines don't want to see every blog like that way. That's basically a suggestion to increase the content - but it's not considered spam. Just make sure to keep in mind that the search engines like more viable content.

AnitaKeymasterChild themes do not come with a 404 page. You will need to create a custom 404 page or maybe follow the instructions found here - http://dreamwhisperdesigns.com/genesis-tutorials/customize-genesis-404-page/. If you modify the core 404 files in Genesis, they will be overwritten when the upgrade takes effect.

AnitaKeymasterLook in the Widget - there is a box to check that says "Show Title".

AnitaKeymasterWell, I just installed Yoast for the first time over the weekend for a client whose business industry is "big data" and to tell you the truth - Yoast has more features to push his content than the internal Genesis SEO. Now I am not knocking the Genesis SEO at all, it's great and especially so for those who are new to SEO, need to get their feet wet while they are learning. But for people who wish to really push their content and SEO is really a big deal for them, Yoast is the way to go.
In this person's particular situation with the home page, I would just do what I originally suggested - use the Genesis SEO for that since his home page doesn't really have content per se that will be scrubbed - he's using the widgets.

Go there, scroll down and check the box for the Author box to show up. That's it. Make sure you fill in the bio info which will populate the Author box.Sorry didn't see the last part of your message. Be right back.

AnitaKeymasterYou could use Google fonts for this. Brian Gardner has instructions on how to do it and I've done it many times.
You find whatever font you want here - http://www.google.com/fonts/
Then follow his instructions on how to load them - http://www.briangardner.com/load-google-fonts/
If you need freelance assistance, just email me on my website.
