Hello! Just recently I'm having trouble with the feature image not displaying when I opt to share my post via Facebook and Google plus. Where I copy/paste the link for use a sharing app, the image choices are usually a button from my sidebar or the author box image. I want the image that is mid-way the post to display. I have marked it as the feature image. I have minimal to non-existent coding skills and would like any ideas on how to correct this. Thanks!

Personally, I've been using the WP Facebook Open Graph Protocol plugin - fixed the issue for me on both FB and Google+. If you use Yoast SEO, it has Open Graph tags included, so there's no need for a second plugin. You can read more about that here: http://webgilde.com/en/wordpress-seo-facebook-image-open-graph/

Thanks Nutsandbolts! I'm trying it out now. Seems like it's working for Google, but not so much for FB. I'll play with it for a while. Thanks again. ~ Meredith

If you use Facebook's Open Graph debugger, it should force Facebook to clear its cache of your site and reload: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

I'm continuing to have the issue. I did run the debug and I actually cleaned up the sources that had conflicting OG tags. I went into Yoast SEO to define a default image. In the debug tool, everything looks good and my default image appears. However, the share feature continues to pull images (buttons) from my sidebar and author box. Any other ideas? I appreciate your assistance.
