I'd like to add some content *after* each of the Featured Page widgets is echoed to the home page (in Widget area 1) - the content would be centered below each widget. How can I do that?

Duplicate the code in the front-page.php file and the code that registers the widget in the functions file.

Note: Widgets must use unique i.d's and the function names must also be unique.

Oh, thank you! That seems pretty obvious now that you mention it... 🙂

I'll post back with my results.

Just a suggestion, would be better if you can filter the featured page widget and add the custom content after it using the widgets filter. But there is no filter.

OK - not sure what you mean by "But there is no filter". Can you elaborate a bit, please?

There is no filter but if there where one, thats what you could do so you'll need to find another solution.

Thanks - I get it. Now, back to my question, I tried your first approach by registering a new widget area that I then placed below the widget area carrying my three columns (in front-page.php), but it would not show up on the page, which loaded without error. Then I remembered that I had not used the widget area called FRONT PAGE-3 in Workstation! It is located right where I wanted my new 3-column content to go, so I just added a text widget to FRONT PAGE-3, and entered the code for three cols, just like what was in the previous 3-col content. Although I don't like putting too much code into widgets like that, it worked fine. I'm going with it! 🙂

    Thanks for your help anyhow...

    Workstation Theme:

Is it possible to implement full width sections with text similar to Workstation homepage on internal pages that use full width content layout? So the background color stretches beyond the 1200px width?

    Thanks,
    Mag
