So now that WordPress has site icons built into core should I be removing my favicons from my Genesis theme folder? And will genesis_pre_load_favicon work with the WordPress site icon and not a favicon.ico in my child theme folder?

I installed a WordPress siteicon on one of my sites. It immediately overrode the favicon.
