While I'm familiar with WP and Genesis, I'm using Jessica theme for the first time and having troubles understanding the widget-based home page (front page). My most recent issue is that the widget options are not showing up. Not in the Appearance/Widget screen and not in the published screen.

For example, the instructions say to go to Appearance/widgets and drag Web Savvy-Social Widget into the Header Right Widget.Header Right is there but there is no list of widgets to drag into it, not WP widgets, Genesis widgets, or the Jessica-specific Web Savvy-Social widget.Yes, I did import the .wie widget selections that Jessica provides.

Also, is there a general reference site I can go to better understand widget-based home pages? Just not seem to be getting it apparently, since nothing is showing when I publish.

I have removed your duplicate question from the post that was last updated in 2019. If you need assistance with Jessica, you'll need to reach out to the developers - 9Seeds - https://9seeds.com/submit-support-ticket/ for assistance with that.

Thanks for deleting the duplicate. I searched for my topic, accidentally posted as a response instead of a new post, and then couldn't figure out how to delete it. Ach!

I'm wondering if you can answer my question regarding a general reference site that explains widget-based homepages. Not only am I looking to understand them better, I'm also curious if they're the best route to go? Will blocks eventually outdate them? Thanks.

In answer to my own question: Deactivate the Gutenberg plugin. That's not for Live usage and it has a couple bugs in it, namely that Widgets page.

This answer was provided elsewhere and did the trick for Jessica theme as well.

Yes, that Gutenberg plugin causes a lot of issues on Live websites! Glad you found the answer.
