    500 errors are the most difficult to diagnose because there are many, many reasons for them. In many cases, the errors may be related to custom PHP problems, an outdated PHP version, something else related to PHP, or even server permissions.

    It's not possible to say why without server diagnostics. Enable WordPress debug, examine the PHP error logs, and WordPress debug logs. These logs may point you in the right direction.
