    Hello everyone,

I'm using a plugin on my site that doesn't register the (primary) sidebar in single posts, which I'm using for a widget to show the submenu. However, the BLOG posts are also single posts, and they do register the sidebar! What's happening here?

The author of the plugin wrote that I should check the single.php file and make sure that the sidebar code is present. Single.php is not a file where I can find any code, in Genesis... He also wrote that I need to add a case for is_singular( 'job_listing' ) if the output for sidebars is conditional. (Which I guess is the case... How else could the sidebar be displayed in single posts from the blog?)

Unfortunately, I still don't know what to do with this answer. For me it doesn't rhyme with the way Genesis is coded. Having said that, I'm also someone who's not exactly familiar with PHP yet. I really hope I can solve this issue.

Anyone an idea? I would be so thankful!! Hope that one of you can help...

You could create your own single post template and also one for custom post types using the WordPress Template Hierarchy to name them.

Thank you for the information! Unfortunately I didn't get it to work with that code in single-job_listing.php (and single.php). I think I'm still missing something, it seems like the plugin ignores that file...

Problem is in your plugin. It is not Genesis Issue. when I am visiting Opportunities page then I am getting sidebar content and showing child page links. Because plugin is getting the parent page ID and fetching the sub pages successfully.

But when you'll show the single job listing page, thattime plugin is not getting the ID of Opportunities page and plugin is not returning any result. So please send a mail to plugin's developer and discuss about it.

Hope that you understand my point.

The plugin - I thought so! I was starting to think that it just couldn't have anything to do with Genesis... Thanks for your confirmation.
