    Hello-

I was looking for some feedback from Genesis users on the W3 Total Cache plugin. There was recently an update to the plugin which subsequently caused me to lose access to the WordPress dashboard when I updated the plugin. I was also not able to access the webpages (www.kayakauthority.com and http://www.hiydrate.com) itself. Bluehost showed me how to uninstall the plugin without logging into WordPress. I currently do not have the plugin activated. I am currently waiting on the W3 Total Cache forum for a response on what I need to do about the plugin. Of note, my php is set as the default.

Was there something I was supposed to do before updating the plugin to prevent my site from crashing? Will my site crash again if I activate the plugin? Do you recommend a better (free) plugin rather than W3 Total Cache? Thanks.

I hope you got an answer from W3TC.
There are a bunch of free caching plugins in the WordPress repo.
    WP Supercache, Comet Cache, etc...
