    Hello,

    I'm hoping someone can help me. I have WP 4.3 and Genesis 2.2, child theme Line It Up by Themedy. After updating a bunch last Wednesday (deleting unused plugins and updating plugins, wordpress and themes) it seems the visual editor on posts no longer works, it shows the HTML. It's fine on pages. I'm just noticing now so unfortunately I don't remember what plugins I removed but I was careful to only remove the ones not being used.

    Anywho I added: define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true); to my wp-config.php and then saw this message in my console log:
    Deprecated TinyMCE API call: <target>.onNodeChange.add(..)

    I deactivated all of the plugins and that didn't help. I also manually re-installed WordPress: wp-admin and wp-includes folders. I haven't deactivated the theme yet because this is a live site.

    Unfortunately I can't reproduce this on the dev site, the dev site just flat out doesn't have the tabs to switch between "visual" and "text" and following the same steps there has not resolved THAT issue. Ugh, it feels like I solve one issue just to run into another! Any help would be appreciated!!

    Hi,

    hard to tell what happened.

    I have two ideas:
    Check if Users - Your Profile - Disable the visual editor when writing is selected.
    (This setting is on a per-user basis)

    Look if a filter like this is in functions.php:
    add_filter('user_can_richedit' , create_function('' , 'return false;') , 50);

    My guess is this is either a problem with a TinyMCE plugin (like TinyMCE Advanced) or with your third party theme. Did you delete your cache after disabling the plugins and did you disable ALL plugins? If yes then check with your third party theme support to see if others are having this problem. It really helps to work with themes built to work with Genesis!

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for chiming in. I re-installed WP 4.3 via the dashboard and that seemed to do it for some reason. I have no idea what happened but that did the trick.
