    I have setup a new site with Eleven40 child theme. I found the Visual Editor would not work. I disabled all plugins (only had 5 installed) and changed theme to Twenty Thirteen but still got the problem.

    I googled the problem and saw one response related to Google Analytics but in a differnet context to my problem.

    As I had set the GA tracking code in the wp-footer within the Genesis Settings page I deleted it and The Visual Editor worked. I tried putting the code into the wp-header area and had the same problem.

    As I am also using All in One Seo Plugin I guess I could put the tracking ID in it's settings but will hold off for a little time in case someone can see if I am doing something incorrectly.

    This is the code I got from Google Analytics.

    <script>
    (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
    (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
    m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
    })(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

    ga('create', 'UA-64640238-1', 'auto');
    ga('send', 'pageview');

    </script>

    Thanks

    Geoff

    Ideally if you paste Analytics code in Genesis Footer Scripts area, it should not cause any issue. Last step could be reinstalling your WordPress.

    If still no go, then only workaround would be using plugin for Google Analytics tracking.
