I am new to Genesis and am using Outreach Pro. I like how the 'featured page' widgets look on the home page, but I orginally wrote unique content to go on my home page, which links to my other pages. Is there anyway I could use that content but retain the style and linking functionality of the 'featured page' widgets?

    Thanks for your help!!

You can add a hand crafted excerpt on any Edit post screen

Or you can put your unique content in a text widget and style and link it any way you choose.

Thank you Brad, and Victor, for your solutions.

Brad, I have no expereince of excerpts and presume they would come from making a post? I don't think I can link from posts because my front page content too important to come from a post.

I have switched theme and I would like to restyle the sections still. However, I have one more question about this (maybe I should open a new topic... not sure...)

If using 'genesis featured page/post' widgets on the home page means more H1 titles are put the the home page source code then that is bad for my SEO. So is it better from an SEO perspective to use 'text' widgets without titles and put the title within the text, styled as something like H2, so that hopefully my only H1 is my headline?
