Using a custom logo in the eleven40 theme

I want to replace the default logo with my own custom logo. My understanding is that all I need to do is replace the logo.png file and choose "Image/Logo" as the header setting in my theme's settings. All I'm seeing is a blank box and I've confirmed that I uploaded the correct logo. I think I'm missing something but I can't figure  it out. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is no reference to logo.png in the style sheet so you need to change the file reference in the #title rule, background: url(images/logo-texture.png); then remove these rules

I am starting to build a site for a friend (http://www.vanburenpubliclibrary.org/home/) and I am having an awful time with this custom header problem. Sozo, I tried what you posted but it did worse things to the spacing then what it currently is now. The method I used to get it the way it is now was the instructions on Studiopress' page to just replace the logo-texture.png file. However, that image is narrow and when you make it wider it does odd stuff. I know enough about CSS to get around but not an expert by any means. This seems like it should be straight forward but I wasted a whole night dealing with it.

I had to go in and adjust the width and height in the Editor to allow my logo to fit correctly.  If you increase the left side logo area, you then need to reduce the right side widget area.
