Use Manual Page excerpt in Genesis Featured Page

How do I get genesis to use the manual page excerpt in the featured page widget?

I have the Enterprise Pro Theme and am using the Genesis - Featured Page widget in the Home-Top area.

I want to use the manual Excerpt I entered on the Edit Page screen that I turned on with add_post_type_support( 'page', 'excerpt' ); on the main page

Another post suggested the following code that allowed html tags in the excerpt, but the widget is still using the main content instead of the manual excerpt.

I'd like to know the answer to this, too. I'd like to set an excerpt in the Executive Pro theme instead of using the first XX number of characters of the page content.

I never got the manual page excerpt to work. But I believe the answer was to choose "Show page content", blank character limit, and insert a manual "<!--more-->" where you wanted the break
