Hello all.
I wonder if anyone could any advice on the following please.
If I hover over a link in a paragraph it creates a thin left border immediately before the left hand side of the entire paragraph for some reason. The border isn't there on page load - it's just appearing afer a link hover. This is happening in IE9, but not in Firefox.
It's barely visible as the line is very light in colour, but it's annoying me now that I know it's there !!
I can't see anything in the styles that could be causing this, and can't find any match for the hex code colour of this border (#EFF5F8).
I'm using Genesis 2.0.0 with Agency 2.0 child theme.
I've tried disabling plugins, and tried various styles including p {border: none!important;}, but to no avail.
Thanks for your time.

I do have one completely random idea... there's a plugin I occasionally use, a Front End Editor. When using that, a line appears next to any editable content when "hovered" as long as you're logged into Admin. But I'm thinking that's not the case here, because that's a chunkier line than you're describing.
But you've already tried disabling plugins, so that's probably not it anyway. Hmmm. Beyond that I wonder if IE9 has any plugins or settings that would do that. That's not my jurisdiction, I only use IE for browser testing these days.
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I think I'll need the good luck you offered as I'm not optimistic about fixing it !!
I hoped it would be something to do with being logged in as admin, but sadly not as it happens when I'm logged out as well. I can't replicate it using Firefox or IE10 thankfully.
It's not even consistent unfortunately. I put a test page up with three identical copied/pasted pararaphs - the strange border spans the entire height of the first paragraph, half the height of the second, but doesn't show at all on the third !!

Yeah, that's Area 51 type stuff, as we say over here. I've got one last shot in the dark for you. It's probably rubbish, but I wonder if the dropdowns above the paragraph relate at all, and by extension, Superfish. You could rule that out very quickly by just de-selecting your choice for the Primary Navigation, and see if anything happens.I'm always suspicious of Jetpack, too, but you had disabled plugins.
Cheers, Dave

Thanks for your reply. It is indeed Area 51 stuff !!
The screen capture in my previous post did point to something towards the header and dropdown, so your suggestions were certainly worth trying. I've disbaled JetPack, unticked the option for the Superfish script and removed the menu - but no change unfortunately.
It's kind of reassuring that I can't replicate it in Firefox, IE10, or yourself in IE9.
I'll let you know if I ever solve the mystery !!
Regards
Ash
