Have been trying to figure out how to display a unique image in the Genesis Featured Post widget, that is different from the feature image in the post..

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

That's not possible with the default Genesis Featured Post widget. You'll need to look for another plugin.

Why would you add a featured image in the post that you won't be using? Does your theme output the featured image automatically at the top of your posts?

    Hi Anita,

I have a featured post on the home page, but the post is also being featured on an archive page and I'm looking to use a different one on the front page. I know the Featured Post Widget doesn't have the capability so looking for another way, maybe through code, just can't figure it out and wondering if anyone had done this before.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've done this before however it requires extending the widgets PHP class using OOP. https://www.w3schools.com/php/php_oop_what_is.asp

There's no filter hook in the widget code.

Thanks Brad, looking at this probably not as easy to do as I'd hoped!

Thanks for the link will go through and see if I can figure it out.

@lancehillier take a look at this. Maybe you need to do it the reverse way.
