I am using genesis 2.0 along with eleven40 pro child theme but I want to find a way to customise my Header Right. I have placed a custom widget menu inside Header Right but the default color of the active homepage does not lit and the menu items have an unacceptable distance from the site title.
Any ideas on how to fix these problems?
    Thank you.

PS : You can see for yourself what I am talking about by visiting my web page (www.vga-frankfurt.de) and selecting the english version.

My navigation menu is created from the categories I have added.
    Any ideas guys?
Btw the child theme menu can work fine but it appears below 'official site' so I used the custom menu widget to use the area inside the Header Right widget.

you will have to modify the menu css to make it smaller; eg, remove some padding from the menu links, maybe use a smaller font and get rid of uppercase letters

Try changing home link to a link rather than a page. eg, in menu, remove link to home page and add a Link with # in the url field. As it is, your current menu home link is linked to a page so it does not show current class unless you click the home link.

Go to settings > Reading > Front Page Displays and set your home page there. It works on my site.

That setting is set to be 'Latest Post' , so these settings you are referring to are grayed out.
