    Several days ago I was given this advice:

    "If you want to remove the featured image from the single blog post, comment out this line in functions.php:

    require_once get_stylesheet_directory() . '/lib/featured-images.php';"

    Did that but it killed my Customizer.

    I need a different answer to how to change it.

    It shouldn't have killed the customizer. It didn't on my site and I use Academy Pro. But since it did, edit featured-images.php and comment out this line:

    add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'academy_featured_image', 1 )

    Yes It killed my customizer - twice! (Because I forgot the first time... I don't do this all the time.) The right answer is right in Academy Pro settings
