Hi - I am new to Genesis and am developing a site using the Eleven40 Pro child theme. I am trying to use one of the top "sticky" notification bar plugins on the site and it doesn't appear to work. Is there something in the Genesis framework or in the theme that prevents this plugin from working? And, if so, to help me understand what I'm working with a little better, is there a reason why? I saw a post somewhere where one could hard-code their own, but I need the functionality for a client to easily make changes on their own so working with code is not an option and we need some particular functionalities built into the plugin.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Hi,

the site-header in eleven-pro is fixed to the top of the page.
I guess the plugin occupies the same spot and is behind the site header.
You can try moving the header down a bit.

FYI, it's not really "hard coding".
You would register a widget area and add a text widget, email signup widget, contact form widget, and style everything with css.
(You'd still have to account for the fixed .site-header though)

Thank you for the info Christoph. What you're saying about the fixed-header makes sense. I am confused though - you're talking about registering a new widget area, but I need specifically to use a plugin. Am I missing something?
    Thanks again.

    Hi,

no, I was just commenting on your statement of somebody "hard coding their own."

Okay, got it. That said, your info was very helpful when you mentioned the eleven40 pro header being fixed and the plugin is operating behind it. I found a different plugin that fixes to the bottom of the page. My client is just as happy with that option and the plugin will be easy for her to use so the problem is solved. Thanks for helping me with my thinking cap!
