Hello,
I have a site running on delicious theme but i like to be able to incorporate the Top Search Widget option from AGENTPRESS theme, is that doable? any help is appreciated.
I have registered the widget first by opening up the Agentpress theme’s functions.php file. Scroll to the bottom and you should see them there. Copied the “Top Search” over to my site’s theme’s functions.php. Then open up the Style.css file in the Agentpress theme and look for the CSS that goes with the widget area you copied over. Copy that information over to the sites theme’s style sheet./** Add top search after header */
add_action( ‘genesis_after_header’, ‘agentpress_top_search’ );
/**
* Add top search widget area on Genesis after header hook
*
*/
function agentpress_top_search() {
if ( !is_front_page() && is_active_sidebar( ‘top-search’ ) ) {
echo ‘<div class=”top-search”>’;
dynamic_sidebar( ‘top-search’ );
echo ‘</div><!– end .top-search –>’;
}}and add this code into my style.php
* Top Search
/* Top Search
———————————————————— */
.top-search {
-moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #000;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #000;
background-color: #ddd;
box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #000;
clear: both;
margin: 0 auto;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 20px 20px 10px;
width: 920px;
}Thank you

November 14, 2013 at 1:27 pm #72984AnitaKeymasterIf you are adding listings then yes. What are you putting in the Top Search Widget area? The same that appears in Agentpress?

November 14, 2013 at 1:37 pm #72990iconitraxMemberI basically just want to be able to add/register a New Widget Area that would be below the navigation button across the site on a specific page template.

/** Register Topads widget area */ genesis_register_sidebar( array( ‘id’ => ‘topads’, ‘name’ => __( ‘topads’, ‘custom-theme’ ), ‘description’ => __( ‘Here you can place 720*90 Ad’, ‘custom-theme’ ), ) ); /** Add topads widget after the primary menu */ add_action( ‘genesis_before_content’, ‘custom_theme_topads’ ); function custom_theme_topads() { genesis_widget_area( ‘topads’, array( ‘before’ => ‘<div id="topads widget-area">’, ) ); }

Similar to the “Top Search Area” widget of the AGENTPRESS
1. Register a new widget area called “Page Top Area”
2. To be placed either Before or After the Bottom Navigation Menu “where ever it would look better”Create a Page Theme Template
