I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I'm having.

I'm using the Modern Portfolio Pro Theme on my website, and the standard fonts that came with the theme are the Google Fonts Merriweather (for headings) and Lato (for body content).
I've been setting up my design portfolio website, and in that process I've made several modifications to both the CSS stylesheet and Functions.php.

Anyway, I just noticed (I was using the Modern Portfolio theme demo as a reference) that all the text that normally would be in Lato has for some reason reverted to the default sans-serif font. I have very little idea why, and I was hoping someone here could help me.

Here's some things I've tried or thought of. Maybe it'll help:
-I tried disabling all my plugins (and cleared my cache afterward) to see if there was any conflicting code. This didn't fix the problem.
-I looked at the code (of the div "textwidget", which is placed in the topmost widget area of my site's homepage) using Inspect Element and compared it to the theme demo. One difference I noticed was that the "body" element (which contains "font-family: Lato") was present in the elements for the theme demo but not on my site. So my assumption is that it's not working right because for some reason that element's font-family code isn't applying to the "textwidget" div.
-I messed with the fonts earlier, while trying (unsuccessfully) to use a custom font, so it's possible that that could have caused a problem. However, I checked pretty carefully through the CSS stylesheet of all of the instances where the Lato font is used (which is only three), and all of them seemed fine. And I don't recall ever messing with Functions.php. Aside from that, the only thing I know of worth mentioning is that the font-face code declaring the custom fonts is still there, though I can't see why it would cause a problem.
-The Merriweather font (which is also a Google font that came with the theme) is working perfectly fine. So whatever is wrong with the Lato font is not affecting the other font.

    Hi,

you are missing the start of a comment section around line 173 of the style.css:

Add /* before Defaults and things should start working again.
