To establish a business directory website ... is there a StudioPress theme best suited for that?

Any Studio Press theme can be used for any purpose. It's your vision and subjective choice that matters. Choose a theme that comes close to what you are seeking and have at it.

You could use AgentPress Pro with the listings plugin and change the name of the CPT to anything you like.
