Hi, I recently installed the Genesis theme (Innov8tive) and I want to make my own customization. Is it best to redesign it before I begin creating content? Also, what design tool should I use? I don't want it to look cheap, but I don't what to spend a whole lot of money on a program either. If I have to spend a little more to make it look professional I will, but I'm hoping I don't have to spend too much. Thank you!

I think it's a good idea to customize your theme before you start creating content, you can always add it later but styling your theme may take a little work.

I hope I posted this link the right way. http://www.haveitnatural.com Sorry, I'm a new blogger. I know with the Genesis themes you make certain changes like the color options they give you or where to place content and sidebars, but I want to change things like the color, texture of the background and the style of the menu bar, the style of the title, and so on. Would I need Adobe or some similar software? What is firebug?

This will help you understand how to codes or at least see how it's constructed. You do not need any software to customize a StudioPress theme, it's all about coding and having a basic understanding.

I use Chrome now and I was wondering if Firefox would some how conflict with me using Google Chrome. Also, I think I'd like my background to be textured and not a flat color, but I'm not sure exactly how I'd like it to look. Is there a way that I can view multiple options for these types of backgrounds. Are there any recommended guides or should I ask these questions elsewhere? Thanks again!

You can customize the theme very easily using Firebug or whatever browser tool you use. What I normally do if I want to see different background images is I go to the demo theme and I use Firebug and change all the code, colors, etc., using the demo. If you need instruction on using Firebug and how to change out the demo site and then copy the style sheet over to your own website, send me an email. I have a little fee-based class I do online if you are interested.
